Dremel Polishing Pins

Does anyone know where (online) to find dremel polishing pins, such as discussed on the Maximus in Minimus website?
http://www.maximusinminimis.com/Rotary%20Tools.html

A quick Google did not find anything, and I can\'t find any mention of them on various Dremel websites. So far the owner of the website has not responded either.

Thanks!

Never seen those before, I\'d be interested too!

Widget Supply seems like a good online source for Dremel bits and the cone-shaped rubber polishers might be a decent alternative until you can find the pins.

Yeah, that looks like the right stuff. That website is a little weird though, they don\'t give the prices, and ask you to submit your contact info before even telling you how much something will cost. Have you ordered anything from there before?

No, I have not and you\'re right the site is a little wierd. I did find them on Ebay but you gotta buy 100 of them for about $38.00. I\'ve found some other places through Google. I\'ll get back when I find a good place.

Those look pretty nifty. I\'ll have to do some searching around to see if I can get a set of them.

Currently, I\'ve had pretty good success with my Dremel and very fine grinding bits. I\'ve also used the rubber-like polishing bits sometimes, and they help with smaller mold lines.

As suspected they\'re used for dental work and jewelry. I distinctly remember some of those bad boys being used in my mouth during my many root canals.

Here\'s another link:More polishing pins

If anyone finds a good supplier I\'d be interested.

I have some for my Dremel that I got in a big variety pack of Dremel stuff. I got the pack at Lowe\'s in the power tool section. I am not sure if they still have them, but it is certainly worth a try.

They look pretty cool. Not much that a dremel can\'t do these days with all the attachments etc. I love mine, and use one at work also. Really versatile tool.

Wow... that has to be one of the best little gizmos I\'ve seen in a long while. Thanks for posting this thread up here, bro. Now I have to go find some...:)

You should be able to find them at the local hardware shop, home store, DIY center, etc. I\'ve seen them at Rona and Home Depot here anyway. Ask someone if they carry them, if there\'s none in the store they will usually order them for you and have them in within a week or two. Unless you find a reliable online retailer which would be easier.

Dental catalogues such as Lincoln, Darby, and Zahn have such an array of fine sculpting tools, handpiece burs, and polishers that will fit the dremel tool. Some of these company websites will ask for a company name or customer number, but I\'m not sure which ones. Also, check out jewlers\' supply websites... they have similar stuff.

These look the same as what\'s posted above, but maybe larger? Not sure if they\'d work, but it\'s the closest thing I could find.

Molebrain: Be careful with the sharpening and shanding bits, because those wouldnt work the same way. Even the finest grit stone or carbide or sanding drum etc would be VERY aggressive at removing material from a miniature. As they\'re designed to remove material from wood and tough metals.

Does anyone use the flexible extension gizmo? That looks very handy to me as trying to hold the big motor part while touching a tiny spot on metal is somewhat difficult.

QuietiManes- Thanks, I found that out the hard way a while back. lol

VinceGamer- I have that, and it\'s very nice. It can get fussy if you bend it too much so it\'s best if you can hang the dremel down.

I have a flex shaft it came with my set, i use it for alot of things (tho sometimes you need the stability of the large motor for big jobs. Flex shaft FTW i say!

It\'s the ONLY way to Dremel a mini I say. You need the fine pen-like control grip to prevent unpleasant accidents. I managed to grind down my Terrorist\'s arms - which are right by his torso, face and weapon - without damaging anything else in the process (to make him short sleeved instead of long).
