2nd CMoN contest

Here I am, going through the old forum posts to figure out how long it took for the first CMoN contest to go from idea to reality (idea was posted on 4-24-2002) to provide evidence on why we should start talking about the next contest, and Borg/DD goes ahead and posts the next figure. Woo hoo!

Looks great! I love the sculpt and most of my complaints of the last one have been dealt with. I can\'t wait to get a hold of the new figure!

I do have a suggestion for the third contest. While I prefer Fantasy, I know that there are others who want to paint Sci-Fi. I think a Sci-Fi figure should be planned for a future contest.

Well, glad you like the amazon.

To be honest, this round, we were supposed to use a Sci-fi mini. And we are going to rotate between sci-fi and fantasy. I had it all figured out, but I have not received the SCI-fi fig yet, and since I have Buddle\'s Amazon on hand, so might as well use it now and go back to the Sci-Fi one later.

No point keeping it a secret, we made arrangements with Cyril to use his mech pilot for the next one, so as soon as we receive her, we will get it casted, and so the next round will start promptly right after the deadline for Amazon is up.

yes, of course. The people that participated in this one will get one Amazon for free if they get their minis painted up before March 1st. But anybody can buy the Amazon, I am sure that she will be very popular...

Not only can I not wait for my Amazon, but I\'ll probably buy a couple more! I enjoyed the first two (Mainly Grom), but I simply love this new one! I just hope she is casted better than the Freya mini.

Still waiting for my minis...

I hope that the ordering for this one is handled better than the last. I still haven\'t gotten the models for the first contest. Of course, I did order them a bit late (Feb 10 or so), but I had hoped that they\'d be here by now.

I\'d love to participate with this next figure (fantastic sculpt!), but so far my experience with New Wave doesn\'t look promising (this is the first order I\'ve ever placed with them...).

Borg, I noticed that you mentioned there were still some people waiting for casts, and that you\'d extend the deadline for those poor souls. Any chance you have a list of those names you can check against? (I\'ll private message you my info if you want.)

I mean, in all honesty, I am shipping them as fast as I can, but if I run out, I am at the mercy of the casting facilities. You will get your minis and when you paint it up, I will give you the free minis... it should come next week and the day it comes in, it will go to you, can\'t really do any better than that.

I am doing this to help the hobby, have some cool stuff sculpted and get them to you as fast as I can, not much more I can do... pm me and I will let you know if youare waiting for the mini ot you got missed, I made it a point at the warehouse to make sure that CMON minis are top priorty, so let me know and I will take care of it.

Sorry if I sounded too harsh there! I didn\'t mean to be terribly accusatory. Mostly, I was just wondering if there was a list or whatever. I\'m content to wait for the models, as long as I know what\'s up.

I emailed NWMO, and got a response letting me know that Freya was on the way, and Grom would be on the way as soon as the next batch from the casters is in. This is all I needed to know, and I\'m completely fine with that.

I do appreciate (as I think everyone here does) your work in \'helping the hobby\', and I meant no offense in my earlier post. Sometimes, this darn email/bbs thing just doesn\'t capture the right tone of voice... ;)

Obtaining CMON2 mini

I\'ve just signed up to CMON and I saw the painting comp. How does one get to order the CMON2 miniature, the Amazon with large glaive/spear. ?

Any help would be appreciated :)

dd, how are you going to identify those people that should get the bonus casting because they participated in the original contest? I expect that I\'m going to want to order additional copies of this figure, and to save shipping/handling costs for all of us, I\'d like my extra figure packaged at the same time.

Are we going to send you a private message here when we order with the submission number? The main thing I\'m worried about is having us add our CMON handle when we order, because anyone could just pick a name from the prior participant list.

I really must say, I am seriously impressed with this model! It is a worthy prize for entering the competition ;) I didnt expect it to be so soon after the first!!

I never painted Freya or whatever she was called. In fact, I just took her head off for my bits box! Mini Killer...

Do I still get her free for the second compo if I haven\'t painted Freya as well? ???

Any word on when this is coming out? Summer break is almost upon me and I\'ve got a pretty detailed (for me anyway) conversion in mind for this one. I\'m gonna have to get at least 3 of her - gotta have at least one to screw up on:D

Looks good!

I was, to be honest, unimpressed by Freya and Grom (purely personal preference) but this looks sharp. Lots of areas for freehand, not that my freehand is any good :( And it\'s elegant, not overly-beweaponed or with tons of clunky armour. And her bare ass isn\'t sticking out, which is a nice change for a female figure. Though I think I\'ll fill in that gap between her \"belt\" and her loincloth, as it is I think she\'d need to wax her bikini line to wear it... :eek:

I\'m with you Vince, I really want to take a crack at that so sweet mini as soon as possible. ....as soon as finals are over...:(
