All I know is the first comment I ever ran across from Ainu was him ripping someone\'s very well done Vet. Sgt. Naaman for being \'totally wrong according to the fluff cause a veteran would never wear scout armor\' or something along those lines. Never mind that it\'s an official GW model and the character is in the DA Codex, with a backstory etc etc.
I pretty much took everything after that with a pillar of salt.

Didn\'t say it was the only comment of yours I\'d ever read, just said it was the first. So far I\'ve not seen any further incidents of such ill-conceived criticism, but given multiple comments in this thread that indicate such smarminess to be your MO, well...
And no, I can\'t link you to the mini - I saw it, I voted on it, and passed on. The only reason it stuck in my mind was your absolutely authoritative (and decisively wrong) comments about the \'fluff\'.

Sorry Elouchard, can\'t wholelly agree with that statement. I, obviously\' am not a \'top painter\' on CMoN but I feel perfectly able to critique my mini painting betters (15 years ago I would have been considered a top painter but my how times have changed).
A big part of it is personal opinion and everyone has one of those, the other part is I know just as many and in some cases possibly more techniques than better painters it\'s just that my execution of these is not as good (and I\'m completely impatient) but this knowledge, in my case, comes from painting for nearly 30 years.
Not trying to argue or defend AinuLainour\'s statement (which was fairly ignorant) but just wanted to point out that you can certainly critique others when they are better than you at what is being critiqued.

I think his point was that if he sets himself with a weekly critique for all to see he should also be able to survive votes and critiques of his own works, especially when the scores are the averages of many votes whereas what he puts out in the CMoN domain is just his own \'authoritative\' opinion.
To whinge about a drop of 0.2 is pretty much criticising everyone who votes.

Ahh, you may have a point there Reverend. I may have jumped the gun a little, I had been minorly offended a bit recently after reading a few threads where it was more or less stated that someone with a lower rating wasn\'t really equipped to impart knowledge, and have been itching to write a reply to one of those.

I also didn\'t say it was the only mini that you saw comments on, but the point is that you judged me on that, and now you\'re being just as swarmy. I at least had the maturity to stop a while back and then you come in with a comment that is just a cheap jab at me.
Just because I was wrong about the bloody fluff, well, if I remember correctly I gave him a high score anyways.

You gave him, as I recall, a 6 on a mini that was floating in the high-7\'s.

i dont like where this thread is going . this should have stopped a long time ago. ive blown up about my scores before too, but i walked away with more friends after the harsh criticism than i had going in. name calling is not necessary. the flimsy veil of courtesy does not conceal the hostility in here.

Neither are you. The only reason you want this dropped is because you know you\'ve been on the wrong end of it from the get-go.
