My friends and coworkers all bought copies of the World of Warcraft expansion \"Burning Crusade\" today. I\'m sure it will decimate the local tabletop gaming for a while.

Nearly 8 million subscribers pay well over $1B yearly to pay this game. We need them to give away a mini with their next expansion. lol

My brother bought it, quickly became bored of it, i bought it off him, played the last two weeks of the free one month trial, quickly got bored of it.
I really didnt see what was so special about it.

The IRS may consider taxing WoW property. It has real value after all.
Someone calculated that the average WoW player is gaining $3 USD of value for every hour playing.

The only reason I played WoW was because I\'m boycotting Sony for the atrocity that was the New Game Enhancements for Star Wars: Galaxies. It gets drearily dull after the first month of killing the samebutdifferentcoloured bandits and kobolds.

Now the Firefly MMO thats rumoured to be in the works...

Got to agree with GP here - I would much rather sit around table or a room than bask in the glow of electrons.

Never played WoW, never intend to play the game yet i know enough about it to hold a relatively ok conversation with WoW players. Why you don\'t ask? because the Fiance is a WoW crackwhore... to the point she forced me out at midnight on the 15th so she could pick up her pre order expansion pack and then took the 16th and 17th off as vacation from work to play it.

Most of the people I know who play work together as well. They spend all day at the office with each other, then go home and reunite in-game. More often than not, some part of their work day is spent in-game as well.

I don\'t play with them partially because of a lack of time, partially because I can\'t keep up. I tried for a while, but without investing the time that they do, I can\'t join in the activities they do together... my characters are not advanced enough. I have always like video games, and the game itself is very compelling (to me anyway... maybe it\'s just a personality type.)

Now don\'t get me started on Guitar Hero 2. I was whistling \"Freebird\" for days after playing it for the first time.

Actually, Norwegians aren\'t generally that recognised for that sort of thing. It\'s more us Swedes and, perhaps foremost, the Danish that are prominent in that genre of film.

Not that I would know about such things, mind you... :innocent:

alas i must state that i did not like WOW. in fact i played it one afternoon and quit. i guess i am still too into my final fantasy games that have an ending. with the exception of FF online of course. i just dont get playing these games. i have a goal in most games. even in painting. i have that little voice that says \"o.k. if you get 3 tau done this week then you can move on to the pirahna\'s.\" there is an eventual ending. But WOw is not like that. although i have the utmost respect for all you WOWers, i still prefer a game with an ending. Or a really hot chick for that manner.....oooh who licks brushes too. see brush licking can be sexy...
