I just watched the news about this. The Burmese governement are claiming he was hit by a stray bullet but in the video footage it certainly appears that the soldier shot him at point blank range. R.I.P. Kenji Nagai.

It\'s all reduced to sound bites and hyperbole. Pop-culture icons, reality
television, and other such nonsense.
People read the little free papers on the subway/bus ride to work, and think
themselves informed... from reading two paragraphs about a subject.
Feh. Nobody wants to read the whole story anymore. I feel for the journalists
that are out there, trying to GET the whole story, only to have this happen
to them...
