A Thought just Occurred To Me.

I have been asked many times how I do my metalics when painting my models and on quite a few occaisions I have sent brief descriptions to different members via the PM system. Not too far back we had painting classes run by a couple of members on different techniques the first one that springs to mind is the one that Klute ran on painting fleshtones. Now before I go any further I would just like to say that I do not consider myself an expert on this subject there plenty of painters who are far far better than I in this field, Romain, Allan C and Avicenna to name three but I am willing to run a thread ie, painting class on painting metals.
I will have a think on what mini to use and it would help if anyone that wants to take part could paint the same mini, as that would help make it alot easier when going through the different stages.
This won\'t be a this is how you should do it but more of a this is how I do it and I think it works well but you may find other ways that are better.
So to be brief if you are interested then post in here and after a while if there are enough takers then I will open up a new thread when the final details are sorted.

Cheers Tim.

It interests me as your metals are good, mine are too...a little, I can always use some work though.

Do you know how to get the rusty look?

Nice one Tim.
You might not think you are an expert but there will be plenty here who disagree with you.:)
I wont have time to join in fully but will certainly be watching closely.

tidoco - I for one would *love* to see more TMM tutorials up.

I also knocked out a very quick and dirty \"2 second rust effects\" run I could expound on if people are interested.

yay!

I\'m one of the people who was PM\'ed when I asked about this :D

I \'d live to participate however, I don\'t know if Shilpa would be happy right now if I bought another miniature...hehe so I may just follow along with whatever I can find that has a lot of armour on it.

I\'ll post pics but won\'t expect the same type of feedback since you can help the rest of the class on the same models..i\'ll just kinda paint along :) and try and follow the techniques.

Ok thanks for the feedback, I think what I will do is post another thread for anyone who is interested as a signup thread, I had thought of using the same mini but realy any mini with lots of metal on it will do, I will probably go for something like a Necron or maybe a large scale model in 54mm scale myself as that will give me a better way of getting things across, I\'ll have a look through my horde of unpainted minis and see what I have. I will leave this thread up a couple of days to see if there is anymore interest and then I\'ll post the sign up thread, I\'ll be looking to start either by the weekend or early next week, I will open another thread once I have everyone that is interested where I can post comments and we can all post pics of how things are coming along.
please notethat this will be about painting metals and not realy covering anything else, if I can be of help in other areas though I will try my best.

I will definately follow this if it comes to fruition. Any chance that during the course of the class you can create an article out of it as well? Since forum threads eventually get bumped to the nether regions an article would be great to reference in the future.
