Aberration Prime - Rackham

Hy folx,

I managed to get one of these babies. At first this model was too expensive for me, but since the Rackham prices went down through the floor, I got one for about 30% of the original price.
I painted it rather quickly with many glaces and washes, but I am quite pleased with the overall result. Hope you like it. :)

Nice piece of work. How did you do those brass(?) metalic parts? Is it brass or is the base color something like mix of silver and brass and then you painted many layers of diluted ink (or diluted paint) over that. Just that you mentioned something about using washes with that.

As for the colors of the flesh (GW colors):
-Base color was a mix of bleached bone and ultramarine blue
-First washes/glaces with pure ultramarine blue
- washes/glazes at the \"joints\" of the mucles with red gore and blood red.

After that some muscle fibers were highlighted again and the whole procedure was repeated.

For the metallic:
I started with Chainmail silver und darkened it with boltgun metal.
Then I added many glaces of green, brown, ornage and red tones. For the joints of the plates I added more and more black to the glaces. After some glaces I added some highlihts to the edges with pure chainmail silver and continued with the glaces.

It takes some time and you have to be patient but it\'s quite simple. ;)

mm.. very nice! I Especially like the metals... and skintones. Wait! what else is there? Guess I especially like the entire mini then :p I might just steal that skintone recipe for a future Dirz as I vary the skintones on each miniature I do for the army. :)
