Ainu's Mini of the Week moves to Friday's: Une autre figurine By chester54

Here we have an outstanding scratch-built High Elf fortress that I couldn't resist using as this week's feature 'miniature'. Besides the fact that the fortress is grossly underrated at 4.4 (UNDER table-top quality?), the appeal is too great to pass up and so this deserves to be here.

Probably the finest point of the castle is the main gate, that fits in perfectly with his army, the Warhammer Armies: High Elve's background and artwork. The pillars, though simple, are quite effective and add a lot to the whole appearance.

The castle's compisition is far more complex when you take a close look at it, and it is then that you start to appreciate the artist's craftsmanship.

Lastly, I really like the fact that chester54 made it so the elves could actual be postitioned on the ramparts, it may seem obvious but when one becomes so absorbed in such a project they might make them too wide or too small to seem realistic.

I would say the score is because
a. you can\'t see the detail clearly in the pic.
b. It looks basically like unpainted slabs of polystyrene and cardboard rolls.

Most people would class tabletop as at least a minimum of painted. He doesn\'t say it is a WIP and to be honest other than it\'s size I can\'t get as excited as you have.

I\'d give it a 6 because it DOES still look a lot like cardboard tubes and styrofoam. Still, an impressive edifice on the gaming table.

He may also have been hurt by the mass of army posts, and the multiple closeups of the fortress that don\'t reveal a whole lot due to poor lighting.

It\'s an impressive piece of work, but needs to at least be painted.

Yes definitely tubes and white styro. Nice design perhaps, but paint would encourage more than tabletop from me. Of course one detreacor for me also is the veritable army of unpainted figs manning this unpainted fortress. at least its consistant...

If they can\'t be bothered to take the time to give it a name why should take the time to give it a vote

If your going to paint it chester, seriously dont spray prime it! lol it would melt away before your very eyes! lol
