This week, the top miniature of the last seven days is quadrille's Varghar! This paintjob and sculpt have, along with Arkaal's recent top of the week's, restored my faith in Rackham miniatures. One very distinctive feature is the ferocious, barbaric nature of Varghar, that quadrille brought out perfectly with his minor additions like the veins and major points like the paint work.
I'll start with the NMM, and for the gold, it is flawless and so I won't go further on that. The NMM is near-perfect, but my critique is that the lower blade doesn't quite look right, but it's very hard to tell.
As for the skin-tones, they appear simple, yet effective, at first, but upon closer inspection, the use of browns and very dark to very light greys becomes apparent, to form the right look.
One of my little suggestions is that the claws could be done differently, there are many different styles, but I would have liked it if they were a tad different from the overall piece.
Overall, this gets a 9.8/10.
