Fuck no. She\'s a \"serious artist\", but she does have a sense of humour.

This was posted on Fark a few days ago, it\'s amazing how many haters came out of the woodwork to say how Alanis \"is ugly\" \"doesn\'t write her own songs\", \"is a bitch\", \"sucked in that God movie\" etc. Why... I do not know. She\'s pretty cool.

Having lived in a house with three girls at university, and having had to hear Jagged Little Pill very, very loud, on repeat, whenever they were experiencing issues with the evil that is man, I just can\'t feel anything but hatred for her.

That album will haunt me forever!

I loved this - I think she\'s got a really beautiful voice but her over-exaggerated attitude is very off-putting. Mind you, I think I still prefer Fergie ;)

But see, she\'s mostly making fun of herself. She acknowledges that her own music is heavy and full of baggage.
There\'s just something amusing and disturbing about her singing in her soulful manner about junk in the trunk.

I think she is great. She is talented, beautiful, and seems intelligent (from what I can tell of her \'media persona\')...I love what she did with the song, if it was only to illustrate how terrible that song really is.

I guess if my daughters HAD to choose a role model from a singer, I\'d much rather them choose Alanis that that skank who did the original song.

so are you now singing the Alanis version? I remember you said a while back you were caught singing the original.

My wife told me it was a good video. It sucked. I just lost 4:10 of my life.

Not to mention; was she really making fun of the video or do people want her to?

I take that back. The Wierd Al video that came after was funny.

No unfortunately, I still can\'t keep that original version out of my head.

Luckily though, lately I keep humming the tune to Moskau!lol

I never could listen to her after Jagged Little Pill. Many of the songs were about horrible \"relationship\" experiences. But she was 19. I mean really if you\'ve had that many bad affairs at that age, I don\'t think men are the problem. On the other hand if she was just drawing from one bad experience, men are still not the problem. Kids getting angsty about relationships just don\'t have any credibility with me. It\'s unfortunate because she is clearly very talented, and I like her voice, but I make it a habit not to purchase \"depression or anger\".

My wife and I loved Jagged Little Pill, but somehow just never bought anything since.... hmm. I remember hearing a couple of songs on the radio, but nothing that really piqued my interest.

I am firmly out of popular culture for the most part, so I had to search to discover what the original \"MyHump\" song sounded like. Meh. I like Alanis\' version better, even without any satirical element.

Ditto here too....There aren\'t many CD\'s that both the the wife and I like...Jagged Little Pill is one of the few.

I just always got a kick out of the \'fact\' (to my knowledge she hasn\'t ever confirmed it, but it was what I have always heard reported) that \'You Oughtta Know\' was about Dave \'Uncle Joey from Full House\' Coulier.

I mean...wow...Uncle Joey? lol

edit* And as an aside, never heard the original of this and haven\'t listened to Alanis\' version either.
