Hey everyone, here\'s a mini I\'m working on for either Games Day Canada or Games Day UK (if I\'m lucky.. VERY lucky).

Teaser pic - yippee!

This is my first time using metallics in a long while, and so naturally I\'m using lots of tutorials from painters such as Jakob Nielson to minis by Allan Carrasco and Fernandon Pietro Carbonell. Thanks for sharing all that with us guys

UPDATE: Done some washes, re-blended some parts.. Basically gave the face the works and completed the other eye.

Youve got some good stuff so far buddy, I look foreward to seeing more! One thing I can comment on is put a little darker shading on the face, but you did say you did some washes, so post a picture!

looking good you need to black line above that eye to tidy it up looksa bit blocky at the moment.

I like the battle damage. Not sure if its the pic but the demon head doesnt stand out much. Everything looks good so far tho.

Looking good Ainu! I like how the eyes are coming out... good stuff. Weathering looks very good. I love how the metallics are working out for you too, they are looking very used which is good to achieve that overall weathered look on a mini . The only thing I see could improve, is that I agree with Ogrebane on the Daemon head, it barely even feels like it is there. You should put a bit more contrast in it by using more colors, maybe some greens, and make it less dark in the recesses to give it an overall dead/pale look, giving it a prescence can affect greatly (positive of course) the overall feel of the mini. Other than than looks really good to me man, keep improving!

For me Ainu, Considering the size of the piece i think you need to do more work on the skin tones of the face, (if you haven\'t planned to already)
I\'d be tempted to give her a really pale complection.
The eye\'s great.

Thanks for the C & C. Now for some new grainy pics (the yellow \'blobs\' are actually rocks, but don\'t show up well for some reason.. sorry!)

And yes, the markings and freehand on the base is NOW much cleaner then it was at the time the picture was taken.

Hey mate. I think it is looking good so far. My main issue is the pics. It\'s hard to give useful comments when your colours seem a bit off or the focus ain\'t so hot.

Which area are you working on - want comments on. I can give my 2 cents worth (of course that is 2 cents New Zealand money which is like worth nothing at all lol )

I will start by saying that where I comment on highlights it could just be that your pics have washed them out a bit. I am only commenting on what I can see.

The highlights on the face don\'t have enough hot spot for my taste. i would use the EricJ \"stupidly watered down white\" technique on the ridge of the nose, eyebrows and top point of the cheeks. You don\'t need to go all the way upto white - just lighten the underlying colours.

Add some blood and bruising to the head. A SUBTLE use of blood coming from its nose and some purple/blue inks to show bruising would help.

The scratch marks on the armour could use some white lining.

The design on the base looks untidy (not dirty - untidy). The edge of the lines need to be smoother.

The face has been given \'hot spots\' now, so that\'s out of the way.

And when you say to add blood and bruising to the head - do you mean the daemon\'s or the womans?

I\'ve started and nearly completed creating an industrial base for another GD \'07 entry, as well as the sculpting work on the mini. Picture\'s will be coming soon.

The problem with the actual mini is that the face is very plain [think babara streisand after being hit in the face by a plank] so you\'ll have to bring the detail and expression to it if you want it to look good.

For the deemon head i\'d use a colour that contrasts with whatever colours you\'ll be using on the hunter herself
