An Article... about me!

My miniature painting is featured in my university\'s employee magazine this week! As a bonus, there\'s a completely contrived photo of me \"painting\" (actually sitting outside at a picnic table somewhere on campus.)

I tried very hard to stress that I had gotten fourth in my category at Golden Demon, but somehow I ended up fourth overall according the article. :redface:

A third on the \"doesn\'t sound geeky\" thing, it\'s a decent article. Reminds me of that TV piece that was posted here a while back, that one had more of a tone of \"these guys are odd, but it looks like fun and they have a sense of humour about it\" but it was also sympathetic to its subjects.

I\'m still impressed you were willing to be the subject of this kind of attention. I \"came out\" to a lot of people I know simply by posting some mini photos along with my canvases on my Facebook account. I was surprised how many people were either \"oh yeah...\" or \"those are cool\" - nobody even gently made fun of me. I guess every hobby seems a little odd to outsiders.
