An EPIC Adventure!

I\'ve made more progress on one of my personal projects and want to direct your attention to it.
Anyone remember the old game Space Hulk that sort of spawned 40K tabletop gaming? You had Terminators v. Genestealers in the narrow corridors of abandoned giant space ships with lots of nifty shooting and clawing and varied objectives. It was a really fun game and I miss it. Trouble is it\'s too big to haul around when I visit friends in other states who might be interested in playing.
So here\'s my solution.

Epic Space Hulk

Check it out and please leave feedback/comments.

thats is a quality idea!

amazing!

i never played the game on a board but i know what you meant. i still have the dos version for the pc. oh it was useless but it was fun! (i mean my comp at the time couldnt handle it, lol!)

just imagine if they had mini warhammer quest models! you could have done the same thing.

ps. whats that futuristic looking device on the right in the third picture??? or am i just being an english half wit?

T
oops!

forgot to ask whether you can still buy epic minis? apart from e-bay etc. i have come back to minis after many years when they were still using the first edition of epic and titan legions.

What a good idea - and to answer Treacherous_1\'s questions I have run across a store in College Station Texas that has a supply of Epic scale minis - in the blister, including Carnifexes - which just look strange at that scale lol

I must be the American half of your English half wit...together we could form a whole International wit.....

I stared at that futuristic device for a few minutes, but I think it is just the bottom part of a blender, and not the Fusion-driven Semi-conductor Transmogrifier that I thought it was....

Maybe Vincegamer can clue us in for sure....

Awesome looking mini Space Hulk stuff Vince!!

Yes, it\'s a blender, that\'s the ticket, no dangerous weapons technology being developed here, no sir, don\'t go telling the FBI on me, I have no plan to take over the world....I\'ll just go now.:innocent:

Oh, and to answer Treacherous, you can still order a lot of Epic stuff from GW mailorder. That\'s where I got mine.

lol!

phew!;)

i can relax now! i thought i was in danger of exposing myself to some harsh ridicule by saying that! *sighs*

thought i may have been missing out on a completely revolutionary gadget that would turn my world around :bouncy:

well whatever it is it would make a great study for some chrome nmm techniques.

So small!

That is amazing and soooooo small. It would be a choking hazard in my house for a 3 year and a 3 month old. But man, that\'s great, and the painting on the models is very good as well. What a great idea.

Off topic, sorry guys, but my curiosity has finally gotten the better of me. Tuubje, what the heck is your new avatar? My sick twisted mind has a few suggestions, none of which I would voice here

Cheers,
Grumb

I agree with Mr. Dwarf, my sick twisted mind thought that was something else entirely. But now that you mention it, I can see the \'floppy clock\'.

This would seem to be the site...

...for sick and twisted minds!

Floppy clocks was the last thing on my mind as well...:D

Sorry, sorry...OT again!!

Vince, you are a genius! as I said on my comment on your post. Fantastic idea, beautifully executed, but do I detect a hint of masochism with this new interest in Epic scale miniatures?

(I think GW could market this concept..)

i still cant figure it out look wise tuubje, i couldnt before and it was disturbing me to no end, like some evil arhaic symbol i cant quite grasp. (shudders)

on the epic front remember those cool army boxes GW made with like tons of vehicles and over a 100 little guys in plastic epic force boxes, all those ranksa nd ranks of minis wuz cool! though the pewter ones kick mucho can and about a couple months ago i saw about 30 or so epic minis on ebay and they all rocked. mostly warmachines though.

great idea vince! and they hold well to metal plate on long road trips, too cool.

T
so when did....

GW stop selling the epic 40,000 range? i use to play what was known as epic with the expansion of titan legions. ive still got all the models i use to have. brainburstas, pulsa rokits, gargants waghaaaaa!!!!! and that was when a banblade only cost £6 as apposed to £120 lol

then they gave it a bit of a rest and released a 2nd edition known as Epic 40,000(assuming the other one was the 1st). then i sort of got a little busy and lost the track a bit;) now ive come back to the mini world and i see GW have got rid of it.

Don\'t know about the UK site

I haven\'t taken time to browse the UK site, but here\'s what the US site has to say:

\"Trollboss Bob has also resurrected the Epic 40,000 miniatures line from the mists of the past. While not currently complete, we do have a fine selection of models for you to equip your armies with. \"

You can follow this link:
GW Epic store
to find the line of minis available. My only interest was in the infantry types and unfortunately that meant to get just 5 terminators I had to buy a whole sprue of scouts and bikes and stuff, and to get the Genestealers I had to buy a sprue of tormigants or whatever they are called. Hey, Space Hulk is my only real experience of 40K and it just had Genestealers and Hybrids.

@JaM
Congratulate your bud on the Crusade game. It\'s too darned expensive for me (considering the only copies on ebay seem to be in Australia). Those early Dreadnaughts are cool, and so are the tripod mounted heavy weapons, not to mention the original \"necrons\" (chaos androids).

p.s. I think the shiny new penny is a pretty good model for some NMM too. Some day I\'ll actually try NMM.

Tuubje thanks for the explanation, my mind is now appropriately cleansed...;)

Back on topic, Am I the only one who finds it ludicrous that they call something that small \"Epic\" scale??

Cheers,
Grumb
