An officer and a gentleman. Possibly.

Just wondering - does this hat look highlighted correctly...?
I decided to highlight using elf flesh... :p
Seems to me to look ok...

I was thinking of washing some graveyard earth for shading...

Looks good so far, I would go with more highlights.
For shading some glaze of dark blue or green could be nice to add some depth.

OK, so a bit of an update on this fella.

I wanted to have his main uniform fatigues a regular military khaki (Green) so I decided to have his carapace a lighter colour...

So I basecoated it with snakebite...
Only I\'m not sure what to blend in as highlights... I tried bleached bone on one of his shoulder pads, so let me know what you think.

Then I also tried a little OSL on the plasma pistol. I decided to keep it fairly understated tho...

So far so good mate, and good to see you painting again after the trouble with your peepers earlier on in the year!

The OSL looks cool, I personally would have taken the plasma light source a touch brighter but thats just personal preference. As it is now however, it does look nice and subtle, which is what you were after!

The only bit that would give me cause for concern ATM is the armoured shoulder highlighting. The blends from the darker brown to the more orangey brown are well done (although I can\'t help feeling a highlight and hot spot would sit there IRL). My main worry is the khaki/bone edging. It looks too stark, especially as the other colour is blended well. I also think its too thick and would work better as an extreme highlight.

Keep up the good work Dan, and hope my rant has been helpful, as intended.

Course it has OD.
The shoulderpad was an experiment - I\'m not sure I\'m gonna have it Snakebite-Bleached, but I see what you mean. Looking at the pic it does look quite thick.

Only thing is, I don\'t know what other colours would work well with the khaki... I want the plating to be lighter than the fatigues, so snakebite is really as dark as I wanna go...

I would agree that the final highlight on the shoulder looks a bit...sudden. However, I do like the colors you have chosen.

It makes the armor look like it is made of or covered by leather.

Well, no-ones said anything, but here\'s some more progress on the Cadian fellas...

Not QUITE sure the other pad is the same as the first, it might need some more tweaking:

I think you have gotten away it quite good for both of them.
But on the first one it looks like you have to highlight the area under the left eye a bit more to get the two sides of the face to look alike.

So these guys are almost finished IMO
I would add insignia, but they\'ll be eBayed, so I\'ll only do that if requested :p
