Both links are the same.

Its scarier to see the comments of the people below the video....Those people are unbelievable.

whoops.

Okay, edited the link to the news story.

Wow. I hadn\'t read the comments. Some sick people are commenting there.

Basically, the abusive father didn\'t keep his guns under lock and key and one of his children shot himself. In this divorce hearing he\'s being given an order not to go near his other kids, when he loses it and takes a swing at the sheriff.

Read the story, but my machine here at work is too slow to even try the video. What a piece of work. He\'s getting screwed? His own kid is dead because of his abusiveness and irresponsibility! How does this make him the victim? I\'ll never understand people like that. Can\'t say that I want to understand them, either.

After reading the comments I come to realise that in America not wanting some pyscho to shoot you to death means your a Communist and that its perfectly acceptable to leave a gun arround where a small child could find it...

I\'m sorry America but the admiration Into The West instilled in my has been torn away by this videos comments.

The comments are just from arseholes that like to post crap. I looked at other videos of just commercials and assorted things and people left idiodic comments on them all. This guy has issues and needs to fry. because he\'s an abusive arse his own son killed himself.

Maria Wells testified Thursday that Syber told his brothers, then ages 10 and 8, that he planned to kill himself so they wouldn\'t have to see their father again.

I think this is the most disturbing part of the article to me. How horrid does a home have to be for a child to make a sacrifice like this for thier siblings. That paragragh actually upset me quite a bit on it\'s own.

this:

three years\' probation after pleading guilty in November 2005 to a child endangerment charge in the death of his 12-year-old son, Syber Wells. Authorities charged Wells with leaving his three boys home alone with guns in the house during a bitter custody battle with his wife, Maria Wells.
Makes me of the opinion that he should never see the light of another day (be it in a hole in a prison somewhere or whatever).

What a hideous failure of justice.

As to the comments on videos, I ignore these at all sites I end up viewing vids at, they would make me too disillusioned in the good that can be found in mankind.

Agreed, that\'s the bit that jumped out at me too. To be so afraid of someone that you feel no way out, except to kill yourself? It worries me how a bloke like the father could ever have created any kind of family environment.

As for the \'communist\' comments... don\'t those comment-leavers realise that calling someone a communist is just passé? Ironically, that father is a true terrorist.

A video of the court proceeding shows the judge becoming agitated as the judge tells Wells to remain quiet and reminds him that she had ordered him before the suicide to lock up his guns.
There is a great part of me that is saddened by this story.
As outside observers we will never truely know the whole background to this story and what were the state of matters within the family, which drove a child to commit suicide in order to protect (in his view) his siblings.

As someone who was raised around firearms I have a very healthy respect and fear of their misuse. To leave firearms around an unsupervised child is unforgivably stupid and careless.
From the information I can glean from the news Geoffrey Wells is being portrayed as a blinkered individual who cannot see his own guilt in this sad affair.

Sorry. This guy isn\'t America. I know plenty of people who own guns and their kids haven\'t been shot.

I think he should get punished as if he committed a murder. None of that man slaughter BS. If you have kids, you know not to leave things like sword, guns, crossbows, saws, blowtorches...etc around where they can get hurt.

Notice how i used my super nnja technique to point out not just guns can kill;)

Come on Swordwind....don\'t judge Americans by the comments left on a definitely UNmainstream website. Believe me those comments get my goat too. Besides, what if you redcoats DO come back?

What\'s even more disgusting is that this clod will do hardly any time because the prison system is overflowing with morons like him. Then he\'ll get out and go straight after his ex with everything he\'s got during a visitation - then, maybe he\'ll do some real prison time.

Of course, the rest of the family will have to suffer some grave fate for that to happen. Too bad we are so reactionary instead of taking action first in our system.

I know, I know, I\'m tarring an entire nation of diverse peoples with one very large, angry, too early in the morning for this, brush. I know that pricks like those who posted comments like that are 0.00001% of the American population. but I was angry and it was too early in the morning (cold aswell). I\'ll just get Into The West on DVD and I\'ll go back to my normal neutral state.

If the Redcoats do come back then I\'m sure Mel Gibson will save you. He\'ll jump at the chance to have-at with the English. lol
