Another \'What\'s Your Avatar\' thread!

Since it was a while since the last one, and CMoN has many new members, I thought it\'d be OK to start another \"what\'s your avatar?\" thread. Correct me if I\'m wrong ;)

Anyway, to begin: my avatar (probably my favourite one yet lol) is a close-up of the striped love beetle Eudicella gralli[/i from the forests of central Africa. The iridescent wing cases are used in marriage ceremonies.

So, what\'s yours?

Yep, and its something stupid like £150 or something a year. But i dont have a TV because there is seriously nothing worth paying that amount of money for. We do get hassled by the \'heavies\' often though. lol

Mine is the Yorkist banner atop Ambion Hill at Bosworth Field, the last battle of the Wars of the Roses.
The Cross is for England, the Boar is for Richard (III) and the White Rose is for York.

Oh we have to pay for cable as well, wiccanpony. I think the BBC should be banned if this monopoly is to carry on.

Mine\'s of a Knights Templar, it represents to me, courage, honour, and devotion to a holy cause. (be it right or wrong):D

Ok...yeah, mine is just some chubby little kid that looks remarkable like me....

But back to this TV thing. I pay for cable too, but I don\'t have a license....I could watch TV for free, as broadcast television is free...

I don\'t understand the license thingy...unless the government is your Cable provider.... You don\'t have to pay extra for cable then do you?

The way it works here is that we have to pay for bbc. Doesnt\' matter if you opnly watch channels 3,4 or 5 (which are paid by advertising), if you have a t.v...you pay for the privalege of crappy channels. Freeview is free (duh), cable is extra and same with satalite. Iv\'e had it with this countrys stupid taxes and schemes! It really wouldnt\' suprise me to wake up and find out theyre rationing AIR with an unreasonable tax put on that too!
Sorry \'bout that, bone of contention stuck in my throat.

Mines a logo for my website.

I work for the BBC, but dont agree with the licensing system. I prefer having programs with no commercials in it, but I think you should only pay for what you use.

The liecense is going up by another £30......the reason for this is to pay for BBC online, HD TV, new technologies being set-up........this is where it bugs me I don\'t use any othe BBC stuff online, except when in work (obviously), so why should we pay more.

Anyway keeps me in a job.

Mines some random old geezer that looks remarkably like me and paints toy soldiers.

And my £10 on the license fee, is that other than watching \"Dr Who\" and the \"Impressionists\", I haven\'t watched BBC in nearly 2 years, but still have to pay £130 annually to subsidise Crap programmes like Eastenders, Holby City, Casualty(*) and see multiple repeats of shows made 20-30 years ago.
(*) All programmes designed to destroy intellect and keep third & forth rate actors off the unemployment register.

I\'m not bitter about this at all.:innocent:
