For 10,000 years this monument and many others like it had stood dormant. The locals often speculated as to who or what had put them there...and why.
In the winter of the year 4013.07-72 the gems on the monument shown bright and the earth rumbled. With a loud crackle of lightning, a rift in the warp opened above and out stepped the Avatar of Khaine. Searing heat boiled snow instantly as steam erupted with every step of this fearsome creature. At the same time the other monuments came to life spewing forth untold numbers of Eldar warriors...The invasion had begun!

Sometimes a passion burns so deeply within a man that he just has to let it out...other times he is just painting a model for his best friend... I like to think that this project had a little bit of both. This was my main entry this year for Baltimore Games Day 2009. It took about 5 months to complete and a total of over 100hrs. I wanted to give a feeling of extreme hot and cold, not only in a contrast of warm and cool colors but also atmosphere. From the fluffy white snow to the bubbling water with steam coming up...to the water dripping over the edges of the top of the mount. I tried to make the whole scene come to life. Anyways, thats my boring story about he model...i hope you enjoy him!!! As always, comments are appreciated!!
