Having seen this in real life, it is a pretty brilliant model, especially for someone who\'s 13. So just to say sorry Bill.

whats that got to do with anything ?

Well for starters, someone who is only 13 just has not had the same amount time to develop the skills required as say someone who is 30. There are also more than just brush technique in painting, many skills/knowlegeds from life get applied to painting that for the most part people just \'know\' but they learn these through life experiences, again something a 13yr old just has less of.

Hmm... well, the simple answer would be \"Why would there be a Youngbloods Category at Golden Demon if age had nothing to do with paintjob quality?

And by the way, cheers for all the great feedback I received on this thread guys, finished pics will be up soon ;)

Happy painting

How did you know? lol

Nah, really it was just coolminiornot. If I hadn\'t joined, I still wouldn\'t be painting much better than this:

(My 2005 YB entry).

Oh, and practice. And a lot of time and patience. With CMoN, anything is possible ;)

Cor Blimey, Missus! Just a hint of jealousy in that statement. I find it rare that someone so young, relatively speaking,
1/ Has a style all of his own
2/ actively wants to improve and shares his WIPs and ideas and asks for advice
3/ Recognises the advice as good and applies said advice humbly
4/ Seeks out info online and elsewhere to improve his work.

For a 13 year old he shows a great level of maturity in his painting, more than many adults. More power to his elbow, I say.

Most guys his age are happy to slap paint on and be proud of that.

Go Bill!

Yup, enough of this constant jealousy, go get em Bill, your maturity shows through again, and I hope you win the youngbloods section:D

On the subject of WIP\'s, I think that you may need to \'dim\' down on the rather thick highlight of red on Macharius.

Are you entering him in 40k Single?

And Vic, nice avatar. ;)

I agree with Rob....
After the whole hey I\'m 13 give me a break debarcle when Bill put it on eery mini he posted he seems to have learnt Age has nothing to do with how cool a mini is really. 90% is a willingness to actually look at your work ..Pick it\'s faults....Ask advice or seek articles for help....listen to advice...and apply to a model....

A great lesson to anyone wanting to start out or wanting to improve....other people paint bettr because they have learnt techniques and tricks you haven\'t..When some of the amazing painters visiting this site offer advice listen to them and do it...simple really.

good work Bil keep it up.

There are few good points and a few points that you can learn from:

The gold seems rushed and fairly messy, which is understandable as you are short on time and have another vostroyan to paint. Also, the reds seem very simple and not up to the rest of the mini\'s standards.

On the better side, there is everything else. :D Especially the AWESOME green armour, and the face, which has got to be your best yet.

Though I would suggest Castor over this in Youngbloods, unless you fix up the gold and red on his arm. 7.5/10.
