Blood Angel

Hi;

I started a Blood Angel army in addition to death korps (reinforcements?).
Having purchased the game Space Hulk, I take the Terminators for my personal use of custom Terminators.
I am waiting to receive pedestals 40mm and bought the kit soclage areas.
Otherwise, I am painting the spirits of dead terminator to test my pattern.

Go hop photos:

For the next Terminator, if you want, I'd do a little tutorial on what I do.

Well, thank you.

PS: For the moment I like it!

I think you should paint every details that are supposed to be metal like gold another colour than red. It'll help to define better the mini.

Hi;

Here is the continuation and end of the terminator said "test" (metal part with wash black gold gryphon sepia wash, dry brushing white on the skull and the codex gray stone to style):

The gold needs more depth (highlights and shaddows).

Another suggestion is a little bit of blendings. Even with inks and washes you can achieve easy blendings... A little more work on that, will push the mini very far...

nice weathering on the tank.

I like it but i think you are abit to concerned about the color covering, allot of times its better to let the color cover less and then highlight giving a over all better impression ^^

the highlights on the right leg look a little "heavy". could be camera angle and the zoom of camera. bet it looks better on the table.

I am sorry, I misexplained it wrong. I know and see, that there are already washes on it. But I wanted only to suggest, that you can use this wash for smoother blendings...

Oh ok spyko, guessing its the camera then, minis can be hard to take pics of so that they look like they do IRL xD

Maybe some chestnut or brown inc on the gold details (weary thin) to bring out the details more?

Actually, how do you paint gold? I prefer Tin bitz, a little dry-brushed shining gold, highlight with burnished gold and abit of chestnut inc ^^

Large solid gold objects like the cups on the knees can be really hard to get right tho, they almost always end up looking bland i noticed -.^

I really like the winged scull on the chest tho, it turned out great =)

Otherwise, I use the shinning gold for gold.

Hi;

Here is the archivist during painting, it remains to make some color and retouch where I spilled:

Not very good guy. You have to shade the blue and gold. You also to have to add some writings on the book and the parchments. I also think the fluorescent yellow gun should be painted in another colour.

In his defense, it could be that the yellow is blindingly bright on account of the flash [it is an odd color choice, however]. I agree this guy needs some depth...perhaps a wash or two, spyko, over your metallics would work wonders. His shoulder pads also look a little rough. But, he is unfinished still, so perhaps you're moving on to that next.

For lightning, I think the camera flash to play a lot. I wanted a color other than red.

Otherwise, the armor has already received a wash, I'm afraid that after becoming too dark.

But in fact, the figure is not finite).
