bubbles

Anyone know of a clear substance that hardens such that I could make tiny clear hard bubbles?
I\'d particularly like it if it was something I could add pigment to.

Best I can think of is to make Spheres of Green stuff.
Make a mould of them and then make the bubbles of clear resin.

Hold the plastic from a blister pack over a candle flame until it\'s soft, then push the round end of a brush handle into it. Let it cool, then slice the resulting bubble off with a sharp knife.

Cover it with a resin such as Envirotex for best effect:

That\'s a great idea.
I want to do a sphere, but that may be a starting point perhaps I can get it soft enough and somehow pinch it back closed....

Ah, a sphere. Hmm. Could also try making two bubbles of the same size, glue the two sides together with white glue (just long enough to hold it together), then dip in the resin... once covered, shouldn\'t be able to see the seam, and the resin can be tinted.

EnviroTex Lite, at Micheal\'s or Hobby Lobby. I think even WalMart carries it. It\'s around $8-$10 for 8 ounces which will last for quite awhile. Easy one-to-one mix and perfect for water effects. Just realize that the stuff isn\'t super thick, so it will drip if it\'s applied too heavily.

I use it also for display bases.

you could make molds from different sized beads. They come really little but won\'t really work for your bubbles because of the holes but they are round and come in all sizes.

If you need really small bubbles you can actually buy hole-free beads that are used for beading hard, flat surfaces. These do come in clear and irridesent (makes interesting soap bubbles) that might just work but they are really tiny (they do come in different sizes, tiny, really tiny and insanely tiny).

Can I get those at a fabric store, like JoAnne\'s or a craft store like Michael\'s? They sound perfect - particularly the insanely tiny ones.:bouncy:

Yup. You may have to ask where they are because they aren\'t in the bead section in michael\'s. I think they\'re w/ the glitter or something. If you tell them ou\'re looking for tiny hole-less beads you can glue to something they will point you in the right direction.

airsoft bullets?

I don\'t know how large you want them, but they come in all sorts of colors, like transparent green, transparent red, transparent \'electric\' blue, and I\'ve seen just plain old transparent.

They are 6mm in Diameter, or about (_) <---that size, and PERFECTLY spherical.

What color are you looking for?
