Chick Challenge

Good point. Anyway I ordered one of the \"motorcycle rider\" CCV minis, not her bike though (I don\'t really like it). Maybe I\'ll even get it done in time.

I guess that I can\'t help sounding stupid, but are the unpainted minis on the site all special categories for each manufacturer, and are all other entries placed in their respective categories upon submission? I noticed in CC4 that there was a category for bases and large scale and nonhuman, etc.

Can someone please write a Chick Challenge for Dummies note.

And when was the Hammer challenge due?

Jason assigns the entries to categories as he gets them. There are no manufacturer categories per se, but he did write that some of the sponsors are going to give prizes for the best painted of their miniatures. All you have to do is send a before picture of the miniature to show you haven\'t already painted it, paint it and not post it anywhere so all entries are anonymous, and then everyone votes and comments on the figures over a 2 week period. Winners are announced, but the prizes donated by the sponsors are randomly distributed (I got a Reaper figure last time). Also, you don\'t have to paint the figures produced for the contest, but last time there was a category just for that figure. I have done the last 2 contests and it is alot of fun.

Thank you vincegamer for pointing this out.

Just a question, can we enter a mini from any manufacturer? I\'m sure we can, but since you\'re talking about their specific minis it\'s better to confirm.

I can certainly see why the subject of this contest is to paint a female mini.
I looked at my collection of \"minis-that-will-be-painted-in-my-next-incarnation\" and only counted ONE female!

I don\'t know what my problem is, I\'m quite fond of the oposite sex lol

Too bad he took down the non-winning photos or you\'d see my last year\'s entry.
It was a 1.5\" tall bust of a Janus-headed woman that came in a Parker Brothers Board game.
I may do another this time.

That\'s the beauty of this contest.
Prizes are awarded \"randomly\"!
You could paint a girl all blue and still win a prize.

Look forward to seeing it Peter - always good to see barbaric splendor produced by the elite painters! I have been sitting on mine for months waiting for the contest so I could start it - let\'s just say it will be what Supervike calls \"Classic Primeval\" taken to the extreme :D

Well, I\'m gonna take the plunge and see if I can get an entry up for this one. I\'ve been meaning to enter this particular contest, and since this might be the last, I want to make sure to get in on it.

Of course, it figures that it would be the same quarter that I\'m doing my capstone project for my BS in Comp. Sci.

Doubly confirmed as if you look at the list now, someone has entered Parker Brothers minis.

Oh, just a couple days left to get your before picture in!

I\'m posting here just to throw this up on the front page again. Only 3 days left to get in on this fantastic competition!

Don\'t have that problem...

@Galante
I\'ve found that I really like painting the females, didn\'t know this until I worked on the CMON Amazon for the contest. It\'s funny that now about half of the commission/gift work I\'m doing are female figures.

I entered this time, but it\'s going to be a real struggle to get it done my next weekend. I had an interesting incident with my water effect last night as I was working on the base for my CCV mini. I thought I had it all cleaned up, but I came down to my desk to work this morning and it looks like a glazed donut (that\'s doughnut for you Brits out there.) lolololol

Cheers,
Scott

I\'m no Brit, but I still would call/spell it a doughnut....:D maybe it\'s just one of them weird \'southern\' ways...like how ya\'ll call all soda pop \"coke\"....lol;)

I only painted one so far and I don\'t really share the same opinion lol
I don\'t know, maybe it\'s because that when I\'m painting a male, I tend to \"see\" myself in the mini. It\'s kind of an avatar of myself, sometimes I\'m a beatiful elf, sometimes I\'m a bearded dwarf (I love dwarves!)...
I don\'t know if I make myself clear in what I\'m trying to say :)

And unfortunately, I don\'t think that I\'ll be able to finish my CCV mini. I didn\'t even started it, and I have yet to finish my Paint Aid gnoblars :(

I submitted 4 before pics and managed to finish one of them already and another just awaits basing pretty much.
I think I\'ll manage all 4 in the next week.
