yeah! my girlfriend had always expressed interest in trying painting, and after hearing my enthusiasm for the fun of the CC, decided to paint and enter her first ever miniature. I was damn impressed by the courage, as well as the quality of her effort for a first time.

my only worry is that she might not get too many comments amidst the bright and shiny entries out there. especially since her figure got put in the eye-catching fantasy category, when really I would have expected it to go in alternative genre.

Wow, entering the CCV was her first painting experience? I hope she doesn\'t get turned off it if there aren\'t very many comments on her mini... That\'s a big start.

I know. . . it\'d be neat if she did get some, but she\'s already looking over my shoulder when I\'m perusing random figure retailers, and been looking through my stash for things that interest her.

I doubt she\'ll ever take to it with the level of obsession--er, enthusiasm I have for it all, but she definately enjoyed the time she spent on her little chick

Pretty darned good

Blackfly if that was your girlfriend\'s first mini she shows some REAL promise. Give that girl some more minis and a paintbrush. Beats the tar out of the first minis I ever painted. ;)

Don\'t comment on every freaking mini as they will not be posted. (Jason - not directed at you - just didn\'t realize that only the winners would have the comments posted. Or will they? Anyone know?) ???

I am embarrassed at all the great minis I seem to have overlooked when voting. I never even voted in the cheesecake, display or large mini categories, and I barely even considered some of the eventual winners...

I don\'t know about this year, but in the past Jason has emailed me all the coments I got after the fact, even though I never got a place in the final rankings (until this year! ;))

I assume it\'ll continue, but I imagine its a loooong undertaking.

Yay! It\'s over, til next year ;) . Congrats to the winners (though I wasn\'t one of them, have to fix that on the next CC) and a big thanks to Jason for pulling this off and the hard work. Now time to wait to see if I win any of the random prizes.

Thanks for letting me know! I\'m sure he\'ll do it again this year. For some reason I thought it would all be on the web site - but that would be too big a job and take up too much space I\'m sure.

Finally can post this thing...

Well, I don\'t think this is up for general voting yet, but here is my Chick Challenge V entry. I had started to post this a page or two ago and had to take it down, was a little premature.... ;)

I had fun experimenting with lots of new stuff when I made this base. The Realistic Water leaked out of the \"dam\" I had constructed of Super Sculpy when I was working on the pool. It ran down the base and all over the top of my desk. It was a really aweful mess to clean up, but it gave me the idea for the waterfall. Please take look and gives us a vote if you get a minute.
