CMONs Porn Problem: Mods See this....

This has been up for literally HOURS after I first reported it. I think there need to be more mods instated to fill in gaps such as this.

Please remember that this is also an 18+ site, at least that is what you agree to when you sign up so armies of mods shouldn\'t be needed...should they?

Longest wait it\'s been that I\'ve seen.

Is there a part in the sign-up that refers to a regular dose random porn spam? And not everyone is at home when they\'re on Coolminiornot. Having porn pop up on a site that has nothing to do with porn isn\'t really something that most people want or should have to worry about.

It\'s not done deliberately and it\'s dealt with as quickly as possible.

Maybe someone in the like Hawaii or Australia. I\'m one of the first ones to see them pop up but I work until midnight pst. That\'s like 6am in England.

That doesn\'t take into account the ones Vike, Borg or Finn have cleared.

So there has been one sat here for a few hours, annoying, crass and pathetic as the porn is,(and it\'s originators ) you don\'t have to look at it.

What\'s the proper way to notify y\'all?

As a new poster and fairly unfamiliar with forum posting in general, I notified a bunch of moderators by U2U. I\'m probably not the only one, and I was wondering if you had a protocol for how to do let the mods know that something like that has occurred.

I mean, is there one person who\'s usually around at a certain time of day? Is there another way to let the moderators know? Or do the moderators have a \"spideysense\" about this stuff and my messages just added to your confusion?

I don\'t want to flood the mods with thousands of U2U messages, just wondering if there\'s a way the community can help better.

Hi Doug and welcome to the forums.

In answer to your question there is a Report button above and to the righthand side of each posted comment in the forums.
This sends a private message into the moderators administration page, which is the first thing I deal with on entering.
Unfortunatley this means that you have to open the thread you need to report, which if you are not in a \"safe\" environment is difficult if not dangerous.

However I got your PM this morning, which is another method, although I do have a friend who often sends me a text message when this garbage is posted.

As to Forum posting in general, there are few rules. These are listed at the top of the main forum page.
Mostly we are an anarchic, sarcastic and irreverent bunch who rarely stay on topic for more than a few posts and will discuss almost anything, sometimes we almost make sense as well.

But if you intend to become a regular, you\'ll have to send your vital statistics ie Marital Status, Height, Weight, Financial stability report, Photograph and inside leg measurement, to our resident approver Ms Wiccanpony. (See what I mean about Anarchic)

Doug, just to add to what DR said, as this happens to me a lot, you need to be LOGGED IN in order to see the report button. Been doing the log-in/log-out two-step lately so noticed the requirement for the report button.

I\'m personally under the impression the porn should never even get through onto the site.

But, be that as it may, I do believe we deal with it in a timely manner. I zap it as soon as I see it.

We\'ve approached the subject of adding another moderator or two, but quite frankly, we don\'t have the power to do it on our own, and we need the administrator to do it.

I\'ve said this many times. The moderators can only REACT to the porn problem. We cannot be proactive, as we just don\'t have the tools or the levels of access we\'d need to really stop it.
