This was done in the space of about 5-6 hours yesterday as a back up entry for my local store\'s demon painting contest since I couldn\'t get my conversion for Azazel finished.
The pics probably aren\'t the best but I\'m very pleased with it considering how quickly it was done, here\'s hoping it does me proud! Let me know what you think.

The painting looks really smooth and controlled, even zoomed in. Great stuff,

Not the most elaborate model in the world, but a solid backup model that\'s for sure! What did you use on the skin? It\'s a nice muted color, something I\'ve been meaning to try for various fleshy tones lately.

Cheers for the comments guys. I ended up winning the competition which surprised me a little since everything else was either a character or alot bigger (Forgeworld KoS!), at the end of the day I think the smooth transitions on the skin came through though. The one thing I\'m not too happy about is the blacklining on the arm bands and leg armour, it was one of the last things I did at about 12 at night having been painting her from 6 in the evening so I was really just wanting to get her done. If I were to change anything I would completly redo the metals as theyre not as nice as I know I could make them and they do let the mini down a bit. The claws were also another of the last things I did so the highlighting isnt blended in very well in comparison to the skin.

The eyes were done using P3 sanguine base and highlight, then some sanguine highlight mixed with bronzed flesh, then a dot of bronzed flesh mixed with a little white and a tiny reflection in the corner of each using just white.

For those wanting to know the recipe for the skin, I did the following:
- astronomicon grey
- washed with 2 tin coats of haumogaunt purple
- musculature defined with thinned mix of gaunt puprle and vallejo basalt grey
- highlights built up through various mixes of gaunt purple and astro grey until just pure astro grey. Each highlight was applied in very thin \"juices\" so as to blend the transitions. The undersides of muscles, or where I was trying to create muscles depth where really there isn\'t any on the sculpts (back, quads, abs), were left predominantly sharp using just the basalt grey/gaunt purple mix.

I hope that makes sense, its pretty imprecise but I was making it up as I went along!

Cheers,

Her\'s lovely! I really like the purple undertones of the skin (thx for posting the recipe!) and the breastplate is cool too. You\'re right about the blacklining, tho.
