I\'m working on my first major diorama, and having some colour dilemmas. The scene is to be a palace-type interior, heavily decorated and incorporating a lot of colour. I haven\'t made a final decision yet, but I\'m leaning to the main wall colour being ochre, main accent colour of a dark beryl green, with additional accents of crimson red and goldish-yellow and a lighter green. The floor would likely pick up those colours, probably minus the red, and there are some white marble (so gray scale) scenic elements.
My question is what to do for colours with the figures. If I use different colours, would the whole thing look garish? If I use similar colours, will they just blend into the background or look like they\'re wearing pop group costumes?
I was thinking of picking one of the scenic colours as a main colour for each of the figures, but most of them are wearing clothes with layers or different pieces, and I\'m lost about what to use for additional colours. (I figure I won\'t use the ochre on any figures, though.)
Any tips people have would be most welcome!
