Well at long last my first historical mini in many a year is done and I am quite pleased with the end result.

great job, you definately got the feel of the mini down, and I love the color of the robe. The only think that made me stop a moment is the plants on the base. It looks like they\'re painted the exact color of greenstuff, which made me have to look close to see if they were painted at all, which was a little distraction.

He\'s great - think his skin tone is fine, but I know what you mean with your comments. People who usually do historical figures get very anally retentive about things like that! I\'ve done larger scale historic figures and it used to do my head in when people used to comment \"Oh that colour red wasn\'t used till 1800....\" BAH!

What scale is the figure? I\'ve not done any Andrea minis - mainly Post Millitaire.

Thanks guys it is one of the Series General 54mm scale minis I forgot to add that in the description.

I was a bit dissappointed how the grass came out in the photo as I had painted shaded and highlighted it again and then gave it a light drybrush of a sandy colour to make it look a little sundried this has not shown up in the photo, oh well never mind.

Looks good! The blue tunic came out very nice. The only thing I personally see to comment on fro improvement is the lips - they look to be the same tone as the rest of his face. Still, nice work!

As before thanks I appreciate the input. I am surprised that the model has beens accepted so well.

@Primeval I did not paint the lower lip a different shade (that was an oversight on my part) but will change that.

Ive commented on it.

I think the metal and the cloth is very good. As I said in the comment its the flesh that knocks it down a score for me. If you put more shading into the skin it would bring it alive. Its not a difficult task, its just a case of adding a dark colour to your base flesh colour, browns work well. Then working back into it and making it look more \'alive\'.

Good though, Im not knocking you, Im trying to be constructive

@donga666 I hear what you are saying about the skintones and to be honest thought about that myself. I am not confident with human fleshtones and basically chickened out I much prefer paintng non human minis. I will take your advice on board for my next one though a Roman Preatorian Guard general that I will be starting after paint aid is done.

It realy isnt that difficult to do, an easy basic shade colour. 50/50 Dwarf flesh/beastial brown, and then \'dark line\' with just bestial brown. If it is nice and thinned out, (even adding a flow enhancer/improver) it should be an easy task. I can see from the shading on the cloth that you have the ability, just maybe not the confidence?

As the guy from Starsky & Hutch said;

Its just the same as the cloth, only differant in your mind. (that should be a Yoda quote, insert Yoda quote\"_________(here)_____________________\" )
