Honestly, though, if you KNOW you\'re going to be moving, and you KNOW you won\'t have internet access for a while, shouldn\'t you NOT have autions running during that time?

I don\'t know if it\'s that easy for some people, but if I was moving, I\'d at least have all my autions over and buyers with their items, or at least use a relative\'s/friend\'s/work\'s computer to stay in touch with buyers.

I think if a buyer knowingly makes himself unavailable, then he\'s taking his chances, esp. if he neglects to email buyers or post in his auctions that he will be away from [this day] to [that day].

Sorry, OrkyDave, I can\'t sympathize much, unless the move was a sudden surprize thing, like your house burning down or similiar. Moving is typically something you know you\'re doing weeks in advance, so that gives plenty of time to let all your auctions end.

Aint after your sympathy Duende, The items WERE posted a good week before the move, and nothing re-listed until all settled in again, I cannot be held responsible for the post office taking MONTHS to send 3 parcels from the UK to the U.S!!!

The point I was trying to make is that life does go on and does not revolve around Ebay, I can fully appreciate what you are saying, and to be honest If I was the buyers of the delayed goods would have done exactly the same. Just give people a fair crack of the whip sometimes, its little toy soldiors at the end of the day, not life and death!

Paypal has procedures to protect buyers, and whilst it may be inconvenient and a bit of a pisser to have to chase refunds and not get the models you bought its not the end of the world.

I hope N.S.A gets his models, and all is great, I was just trying to make people see things from a different perspective.

(F.Y.I- the move was a sudden surprise thing- we were living in a top floor 1 bedroom flat with our baby boy who has special needs and at the time was having to be tube fed through his nose. We were offered a 3 bed house on a take it or lose it basis, and was moved in within 5 days of viewing! Sorry if making sure people got the models I had posted was not high on my list of priorities then...)

Perfectly understandable!

Like I said, unexpected stuff I can see cauing problems that are nobody\'s fault. I was thinking of Zordana\'s post where \"moving\" sounded like a convienient excuse.

I\'m in the middle of moving and it can be a bit awkward but there\'s a simple decision for people selling stuff to make...
Are the sales they are doing important?? If that\'s the case make sure you can keep some internet access at all times and that new place has internet installed as a priority..
Is the customer important ?? If yes email them before internet is lost explaining you will be away for however long.explain the situation and that if there is any problems.alternate contact or phone etc.. But at least just let them know there will be no reply for a while.. If the customer isn\'t important then you simply shouldn\'t be selling...

Update on the case... I filed a Paypal dispute and according to Paypal\'s page:

\"A claim has been filed against this transaction. The seller\'s deadline for responding to this claim is May 27, 2006. If the seller does not respond by the deadline, the claim will be decided in your favor.\"

That\'s all I did. I don\'t care if his goldfish died or his computer broke down or he\'s Al Capone. Since the seller should be notified if there\'s a dispute, I can only assume he\'s simply choosing not to respond (dispute has been open for 9 days). At this point, I just want my money back to buy more minis on eBay (I\'m bidding on a couple of guys right now and just missed out on some orks lol)

Strangely, positive feedback has since appeared on his profile. From quite established eBayers too... Very weird. The only pattern seems to be that if you have less than 100 feedback, this guy has a tendency to screw you. I have every intention of leaving negative feedback for him, as he richly deserves it.

All this over $12 too lol but this kind of dishonesty really burns my ass Thanks everyone for your encouragement

Hi, I had a problem a few months ago with some other guy who didnt send the item I paid for, I made the usual complaint to paypal and also got no reply from the seller, so I won my case, great I thought, I\'ll get my money back. Did I? no, if the guy doesnt have the money in his paypal account you wont get a refund, also the if seller is crafty and monitors his account any incoming monies can be withdrawn before paypal can get their mitts on it, a drag to be sure but thats the risk you take trading on ebay. I always contact the seller before the auction ends just to suss out what sort of person I\'m dealing with, if I dont get a response from a question I have asked I dont trade. Good luck.
