Eldar guy ~ on eBay!

I think you should have painted the gems, even though they annoyed you. But in general it looks nice! The photos are a bit small and dark though.

Thanks :)

I did paint all the gems that\'d been painted as gems in the \'Eavy Metal scheme, but there are obviously lots more gem-shaped bits that could be construed as gems! I didn\'t want to make him too blingy :D

Looks good, but judging by your Lord Solar, models like this are not going to be your strong point. They don\'t fit your painting style at all.
But, good job, and i hope you get minted on ebay!

Hey Bill!

That looks really good mate, should fetch a good price on eBay. Even if you didn\'t like painting it it still looks great ;) But the photos are a bit on the small side so that might affect the bidding.

I\'m not too familiar with Eldar but from what I can see it looks like a conversion...it wasn\'t too obvious, but then again, they shouldn\'t be! :D

Anyway, hope it gets you a bit of dosh!

Cheers,
Tom

Cheers guys, I\'m glad you like it :)

I agree it is not my best work, but it was certainly good practice! here is a slightly better photo (for some reason on .co.uk eBay won\'t let me use self-hosted images, which could be of this quality, while .com will...)

I\'m a bit disappointed with how poorly his blade photographed, because IMO it was by far the best part of the model :(

Looking good Bill, Hope this sells well as I thought you were robbed with the price Lord Solar Macharius went for mate! A £20 start should help this though.

In one post somewhere on these fine forums, (although I aint sure where or even what topic its in- aint much help am I ?) Dragon forge told of a way where you can paste one of the 3 codes from photobucket (although not sure which one!)into the text body of your ebay description and will let you use big pretty pictures and its free too, free I tells ya!!! Hope this has been of some vague help mate!

always try and add supersize....
I never list an item without it..
use basic photo services generally holds larger pics takes a while longer and costs a little moe but generally worth it..
The key is if people can see clearly what they are buying they will bid...
good luck young man and don\'t go spending anything you ake on Valentines presents...
models first:D

To tell the truth, it looks a bit sloppy. Don\'t get me wrong, it\'s not bad, certainly mid-7\'s, but it could certainly be better.

Some areas of the blue could be blended better, and like has been mentioned - the gems. I personally love painting those things, they look so cool when finished, but to each his own.

Something that really bothers me is the gold. The stark mithril silver highlights just look shoddy. Looks like the gold areas were just slapped together.

The color scheme could use a bit of work too. The sword is too similar to the suit, and the purple eyes don\'t stick out enough from the black mask.

I apologize for the total slagging of this mini. The more I looked at it, the more I saw that bothered me. It just looks like a sloppy mini from someone who could obviously do better. I get the impression it was a quickie for eBay.

Thanks guys :)

JakeSh: no worries, I appreciate people taking the time to look over my minis :) It wasn\'t originally for eBay, but when I had finished painting it, I didn\'t like the result myself (as I said, the mini doesn\'t suit my painting style at all), so I put it up on eBay to see it I could make a bit out of it, especially as it\'s a fairly new release which tend to sell rather better than older minis. My other minis do look better, but that\'s because they\'re not Eldar :D and they don\'t have such retarded photographs (under the current circumstances these were the best I could get). Re. the gold, I am inclined to agree with you there. Some parts are better than others, but on his arm certainly it\'s very poor. Colour scheme: each to his own, as you said :) To use the age-old excuse, it really does look better IRL, and the person who buys this (IF someone buys it, which I am feeling less and less certain about lol) I think it will surpass their expectations when it arrives. I know I should have got better photos, but I needed to sell this mini in time for another order from GW. Next time things\'ll be better :D

Cheers

Since you currently have no bids, you should embed the larger photobucket pics right into the eBay description.

I wrote a big ol\' tutorial on including clickable thumbnails in your auction listings in the articles section.

@HakoMike: Thanks! I didn\'t understand everything in your article, but with a bit of copying and pasting it seemed to get me a free image in the item description :duh: Cheers for that! :D

Wow... I\'m quite suprised you are 13. You handle yourself much more maturely than I would expect someone of your age to act. It also gives me much more respect for you. I was kind of dissapointed when I looked back at your mini and it was in the mid 6\'s. It certainly is much better quality than that. Keep it up, man, you definitely have a bright future!
