the cloak, skin and shield are the best parts imo. a couple of recesses on the horse are a bit too immediately dark (if that makes any sense) ie his front left leg, but horses are a pain to paint

Nice! The colourscheme suits the miniature and the painting looks mostly smooth. What I think you can do is pushing the highlights a bit further overall. The horses skin looks a bit shiny and it seems like there is some pooling, is it inked? Try then to replace the ink with a wash and when doing washes have another brush (or the same if you\'re quick) handy for soaking up paint that goes where you don\'t want it and draggind it towards shadows.

The same technique of dragging paint can of course be used for highlights as well, it works especially well if you drag the paint towards edges.
