Today I ran across some images of a Carnosaur conversion that predates the version I posted here a few months ago. Seeing this one reminded me of why I chose MY colors the way I did
When the buyer told me that he not only wanted the Mount AND rider to be red, but also have the lava effect, I knew I was in for a battle royale with color temps and my OSL.
I had to make sure that all the colors on the ventral surfaces were as cool as possible, since shading and values alone would not be enough to convey the "heat" of the lava.
However, I still had to vary the red on the rider, so that it did not blend in too much with the wings when viewed from above! Yikes.
