Female Dwarf Hammerer

New year and a new mini from me though in truth it was started last year. There is a story behind my reason for painting this particular mini despite it being a cool mini any way.
My wife has always had a bit of a temper even when she was little in fact she told me a story once of an occasion where she was out playing with other children as children do and one particular child was on a swing that she wanted to have a go on. She asked said child for a go and when he didn\'t give the swing over to her she went off to her dad\'s shed brought back a hammer and promptly whacked the offending child around the head with it, needless to say this didn\'t go down too well with the child\'s parents but she did get her go on the swing.
My wife is also not the tallest of people so this mini is perfect as a caricature of said offending youngster. So without further ado I give you Doris Hammerhand.

Nice one - a bit heavy on the boob blacklining maybe, but the metallics and lighting are as lovely as ever. I like the oily look and the colours on her back.

Sadly I have removed it, with a score of 6 after over 60 votes, this will definitely be the last time I submit a mini on this site. Thanks for the comments here they are much appreciated but from now on my works will stay my own.

Well I thought your mini was a little underrated based on the paint job, but the mini itself was not that cool for my tastes, and it sounds like most others.

What was your expected score? The metals were very well done I thought.

The metallics are lovely, as everyone else pointed out. I also like the loin cloth, great colors and blending.

Do continue posting your miniatures here. I\'ve always loved seeing what you come up with. Scores are nothing to get upset about. My duel was at 6.something before it evened out at 9. Stuff like that happens. Snipers are abundant, and not posting will only encourage them.

I\'m giving Tim some leeway - he\'s a true regular with a top-notch record of helping and being an all-round sound feller. It might have been a bad day for him and it came out in the post. I\'m sure it\'ll all smooth itself out.

I\'m going to go against the grain here and say I thought it was not up to your usual standard.
The skin on the breasts looks thick and not very well blended and the metallics are nowhere near as good as some of your previous work.

I gave her an 8. Do not let the voting on this site discourage you. It is subjective and people do not normally take the time to really look at the minis they are voting on.

Also there are alot of snipers which I define as people who are jealous of others painting abilities that vote minis down because they cannot paint to that level. Please continue to post your minis because there are alot of us on this site who appreciate your work and like to see how you are improving and changing. That is one of the great things about this site is seeing people styles change and their painting improve and evolve.

i totaly agree, i know when you truly believe something should be one way and others say its not, its one of the hardest things to ignore. i love that mni you ve done, i gave an 8. as for snipers, yes, theyre out there, they must be, becuase how else could minis like this

be anything but 9.9 after over 1000 votes? yes maybe 100 people are going to put it as a 9. but i reckon maybe 30 embittered people will have looked at it, then at their own work, and thrown ones and twos out of jealousy9im not slagging of your mini vincenti, its my favourite on the site)
as has been said, people dont look at whaty there voting on. your mini is quite compact, so people who arent paying attention will se it as insignificant and underdetailed, the very opposite of the truth.
