Fingernails

What would people recommend for doing fingernails and cuticles? Use the shadow colour around the edges then the highest highlight colour for the nail itself? This is assuming non-painted nails on basic skintone types. Although tips for doing painted nails would be cool for future reference, too.

ya . . that\'s what I\'d do.

Doing zombies now with pronounced claws (still not much bigger than fingernails) and I\'m doing GW Desert Yellow with Bleached Bone highlight. It\'d work for any untrimmed or nasty nail growth...

me people also look to put vertical straitions on their, but I only do this if the figure is big enough, like an ogre.. Other wise, one off white color is all I use..

I have some 1st hand expereince in the matter, from what I\'ve seen in the many years of clipping and trimming my raggedy nails is that they are basically he same colour of my skin, they are traanslucent so the colour of the skin under then shines though. I also have a slight pink tinge behind the nail and some grey bits at the tips. It might be different for undead though, with things rotting and no blood to colour the skin.

I\'m looking at my nails: slightly darker around the edge, white half moon at the bottom, vertical striations and a reflection, now if I can just get all that onto a 1mm square I\'ll be set...

But yes just looking at my nails what he said is right. However painting that on a human 28mm figure is a swine. Good luck to those who try it.

Now I\'m gonna have to try doing it on my next mini, thank god terminator armour doen\'t have nails...

Yeah big nails, but 0.025mm square was a bit obsessively accurate, small is small.
