Hy folx,

this was my submission for this years \"Red Devil Contest\" at the Mini-Art-Con in germany.
It got first place in the category \"single Miniature\" and \"best of Freebooter\". I was really happy \'cause it was my first attempt at the Red Devil contest. :)

I particularly like the singed label :)

How did you do that...?
Partly real burnt card then laminated...?

Thanks. It was my first attempt with OSL and I was a bit nervous about it. But I think it was good enough... lol

The label is pretty simple:

1. Print out a tiny label (with a laser printer!)
2. Cut it to the right size (cut it BIG enough)
3. Paint it with different very watered down brown colors (Vallejo Smokey is great!)
4. here comes the tricky part: burn the sides of the label with a candle or something but watch carfully to NOT ignite the whole label! lol
Put out the glowing parts with your fingers.
It\'s a bit tricky but it works. ;)
5. glue the label to the base

FINISHED!

I\'ve heard (though I haven\'t tried this yet myself) that you can more safely get a burnt edges parchment look by placing a piece of paper in the oven and baking it. Don\'t remember what temperature, but I think it was a pretty low setting.
