All the GD models now come on a 40 mm round base... The Orc was a puzzling one.. I\'d say fantasy although there are some 40K details but he has no gun and a lizard loincloth and bone sword....
There used to be a pattern 40k/fantasy/40K/fantasy but there doesn\'t seem to be anymore it\'s more a case of what didn\'t quite make the range this year?? oK finish it and get it packaged for Games Day......shame because the Dwarf slayer hinted at a real move towards one off display pieces...
Ahh well...
This guy does look good ....

Utter bobbins. Sculpting looks soft in too many places and the pose is cack.

Why can\'t they do some special one-off characters/creatures for these pieces instead of generic stuff that looks like it\'s been done as a test piece by a new sculptor?

Tosh.

Depends on the GD, all the US GD its included in the ticket price of $40.00 for the event.

I know France\'s 35 Euro price its also included. I think its also included in the Canadian GD ticket price..not sure about the rest.

The UK on the other hand the ticket price is 25.00 pounds or about $50.00 USD and the price of the mini is extra. Making it the most expensive GD and Mini package.

whilst i do agree with the price of the mini being a rip off i think the uk ticket price is the cheepest when you forget about exchange rates.

shit, i said something good in favour of gd uk, i\'ll burninate in hell now lol

D\'Accord.
The last few ( 3-4) GD Mini\'s have been really poor, it\'s almost as if it\'s a pallative (sp?) to the modelling community.
Since we end up buying the damn thing they could at least show a bit of class and make it worth buying. It\'s not as if they have really poor quality sculptors working for them.
Lets face it if they wanted to really make the thing work they should have a \"Classy Character\" which fits in with their latest Army release. They did it with the Space Wolves Chaplain/Rune Priest for the Black Crusade gubbins.

I\'m not suggesting anything, therre\'s just a lot of minis out there in this kinda pose, but I guess we should expect something a little more special from the annual gamesday mini...

i had an argument about this model in GW today. The guys were adament that each GD has their own model.

Grrr i hate it when GW staffers think they know it all just cause im a kid.

Oh no i have just totally sent this thread off course. No more GW bashing please;);)

As for the model, it looks alright but as others have said it is another space marine, maybe GW are going to make it posable to make a whole army out of character models?:)

I think that GW should really try to branch out more with there GD minis, something unique, something aimed at the painter maybe?

So far i have not been tempted by any of the GD minis and i don\'t think i will be until they make a decent effort to come up with something really cool.

Even still, and I know its still an unfinished green, anyone going to GD paris, if your taking orders, sign me up for that too :D

Well, heck, anyone really.

I seem to remember that GD Spain had it\'s own mini at least twice. Marco Colombo (who was then used for something else) and Gimli on dead Uruk Hai I think they were. I could of course be completely wrong and this is the mini for this years GDUK but for the sake of variety I hope I\'m not.

I hope it isn\'t the next GD miniature as although it isn\'t the worst model it shouldn\'t make it as the limited model. I agree with those who think the model should be something more. I agree with those who think it should be a special character or well posed display model. The archaon was a good model that had the balance of display piece and game piece, and the slayer was a great piece. I really think that if its anything SM it should be a primarch or the emperor or a character who they would never release, i think this would make people actually want it

they do look quite...erm...similar.
I also noticed there wasn\'t a backpack with it. Maybe there is more to this piece.

Here\'s to hoping for more.

Well yes, it\'s not finished, so there\'s definately more, although it will still probably be a space marine running with a thunder hammer.

maybe the marine will be running at one of those carnival (test you skill) hammer things. where you hit it and it says if your a man or notlol

I agree with Brokenblade. In the fact that the model is quite obviously unfinished and the finished model should be even nicer.

@Brokenblade: I take it from the fact you said it was a bad photo you have actually seen the green.
