GIF Submissions

I remember a discussion about someone who submitted a gif of his mini to CMON and I thought it\'d be cool to try this out. Anyone have tips for this sort of thing?

I\'m not sure if a gif would be much good for a photograph. It\'s great for flat colour; but the last time I did anything with gif on my illustration work the pics just looked, well, a little pixelated.

Are we talking animated Gif\'s here?

There was a painter submitted a 360 rotation of his/her mini a few years ago.
Kinda neat idea but you lost the ability to get a good look at each area as it rotated.
It might be something to put up in the forums though.

GIFs have a limited colour range, not good for pictures of minis. They can only represent 256 distinct colours, so smooth blends will be completely trashed.

You would be better off using Flash, same as PP do on their website.

I have done this in the past as a test piece. The only thin is to get a smooth turn, you need to take around 12 pics of the mini!
