Golden Demon - photographs allowed?

Quick question for you Games Day veterans.... are photographs of the Golden Demon entries allowed?

short answer: yes

but they are generally behind a glaring glass case and the lighting is poor with a single long flouresent bulb so it is hard to get a decent shot.

They have a huge, overlit, light tent that they use.

Yep...for dislpay shots, you are out of luck, but for \'reference shots\' as in \"I\'m gonna so steal that idea\" its perfect....just make sure your flash is off and have at it!!

Actually, You are allowed pretty much anything. If you feel strong enough you can carry you camera attached to a tripod and set it outside. Just make sure you do not interfere with other people As for not using flash it really depends. If you have tripod then don\'t, otherwise my hands are not steady enough and when it comes to bluriness as opposed to slightly bleached out look I go for bleached out look. You can correct it later on, at least you will be able to see things

There are different types of flashes as well.. I recently discovered that one mode on my cam works much better. obviously just don\'t aimthe cam so that the reflectiuon of the flashmesses up the picture...

Oh, another thing. The \"autofocus\". These minies at GD are protected by plastic display boxes. the surfaces of these boxes are quite scratched, sometimes to the point that fools autofocus in focusing on the surface of the display box rather then mini. If you have advanced camera that can do \"point\" focusing switch to that. However, even with this \"feature\" there were several minies that have to be taken with fully manual focusing.

I haven\'t taken photographs at a GD event, but I have of other minis on display in cases. The first year or two\'s turned out pretty badly. I asked another person who had taken better pictures in the same venue for tips, and he was using the flash. I have found that it works better with the flash, you just have to try to get different angles so you keep the flash reflection away from the thing you\'re photographing.
