GW paints a question

First of all I apologise up front if I have ressurrected a previous topic.

I use mainly GW paint and would realy like to try wet blending, the problem is no matter how thin you make them the drying time once on the mini is well lightning quick. I have heard that the use of retarder extends drying time but mostly this is discussed with reference to Vallejo colours. Can retarder be used in Citadel colour just as effectively.
Another question which is aimed more at members that live in the Nottingham area of the UK, where can I get said retarder and also Vallejo game colour in this locality ie go to the store and buy it over the counter.
Thanks for your time.

Hola,

Acrylic retarder works on all acrylic paint brands. You might also want to buy flow improver / future / soap so your paints flow smoothly and do not end up as drops on the surface.

Don\'t know how it\'s available in your area, but practically all art stores should sell some brand of retarder. Check your local store and make sure you buy _acrylic_ retarder.

On the retarder/extender/improver whatever front, I\'d suggest buying a liquid rather than a gel version. Personally I find it much easier to use.

Windsor Newton Acrylic Flow Enhancer

The solution to ALL your wet-blending wet dreams lol

As mentioned, it should be available in anything purporting to be an art shop. I love it. I love it, I love it....

Wet.

Well, i\'m in Notts and have been getting Vallejo paints recently and trying to find a retarder.

I had to MO the paint, there really is nowhere locally. If i remember, Hobbycraft were the only ones with flow extender, i\'m planning on popping down there tomorrow to get some now that i know [from this thred] that it will do the trick.

I\'ve also had reasonable results from Vallejo\'s glaze medium.

I get my Vallejo from Game Mart, delivery is always quick. But if you really want to get it from a shop, the only one I could suggest in Notts is Traveling Man (upstairs in GameStation in the city centre). I dunno if they have vallejo or not, but they\'re the only ones I can think of

Thanks KingM the only reason that I need a direct over the counter sale at the moment is because my card is up to its limit and it will take a few days before I can get a payment off it.
I go in The Travelling Man quite a lot but I don\'t recall seeing Vallejo in there.

they don\'t. They\'re rubbish compared with some of their other shops, they don\'t sell Rackham either, and their stock of war machine is pathetic...frankly, their stock of minis in general is very dissapointing....
