I just received the board game "Playing Gods" for Christmas. It's a game where you battle it out between religions to conquer territory and convert followers.

And it came with these game pieces:

Kali, Moses, Jesus, Buddha, and (presumably) Mohammed. Scandalous. Now... how long would it take me to paint them all up?

To add to the blasphemy, you should paint them only on Sunday.

While cursing, drinking alcohol, thinking nasty thoughts about people, and your personal sin of choice.

And sodomy of course, you mustn't forget the sodomy.

I find it somewhat amusing, given the subject matter, how careful the sculptor has been to cover up Kali's nipples with the skull necklace..

Granddad!
Some pretty good sculpts there, I'd have thought that the Kali mini would have had a more feminine face tho

thats pretty cool. how does it work? like risk?

Not sure... We probably won't have a chance to play it until next week at least. But it's a little like Risk except you don't move the same - there's a circular track around the board your pawns move on, and when you land on certain squares you can "attack" certain territories.

Those figs are quite cool. I just bought a set of the figs alone - now to display them on the work shelf and really annoy all these religious types in the office for trying to convert me all these years!

I don't get it... Moses was a Ex-Jew following the word of God and belived that Jesus died for our sins; that would make him a Christian. There are two Christianity pieces?

And to PegaZus: Consuming alachol is not a sin! Otherwise I would be in some big trouble.
To Gohkm: I'm sorry people force their religion upon you, it's very sad to hear. For example, Forcing Christianity on some one is, ironically, not a Christian thing to do. The love of Jesus is not something you can shove down some ones throat. :p

Woah! Those are great! Also just grabbed a set of just the Idols. Hoping they get here by Christmas, I'll have something to paint to get me in the proper holiday spirit. :)

Huh? Moses was dead for about 2000 years when Jesus was born.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but Moses is supposed to have been around 15 centuries before Jesus. And wrote the Torah, so that really makes him a founding Jew, rather than an ex-. Unless South Park has expounded on something that I missed?

Well, to at least one of those figures, I do believe alcohol is halal. Games of chance, too, which makes including it doubly ironic to me.

@warmsoda: You do know that Jesus was a Jew right? Jesus was the one bringing Christianity. Moses was the bringer of the word of God, giving the Jews a set of laws to follow so that they could be one as a people. Moses was also the dude who freed the Hebrew(The Jew) people from their Egyptian slavers. A.k.a. THE most important character in Judaism, In Christianity he is just revered as the first prophet.

Those stone tablets are the basis in all three Monotheistic main religions(Judaism, Christianity and Islam)

Pick up a bible, It's a good read. Preferably one with both the old and the new testament. I'm not a believer myself but it is my solid opinion that one should read up on the texts, especially if one actually is a believer himself.

And this text is not meant to criticize, if it felt like that I apologize.

Cheers!
