Hi, my mom just got a new digital camera so I\'ll be able to take some decente pictures of my mini ( well all those that aren\'t varnished anyway ). Here\'s a harbinger of justice I did some time ago, I really liked doing it and it was the first mini on wich I managed to do some blending ( on the back of the coat). Tell me what you think, and help me improve :D

I like this mini...

This is probably my favorite of the Harbinger (THAT IS UNTIL THE HARBINGER OF THE NORTH ARRIVES!!) Minis.

The pic is still a little blurry, and the lighting is off a bit, but I do like the natural colors you have given it. The base needs some attention.

@Airhead....That is one cool little avatar, I spend a while just staring at it.....Neat!

Hmm... familiar colour scheme! :D

Looks to be painted fairly neatly and some of the blending appears to be quite well handled. I can\'t really comment on the colour scheme though. Difficult to say anything else as the image quality isn\'t that good. The shiney finish also detracts a little, but some folks like a bit shine don\'t they?

:D

without talking about the gloss, y kind like that one, nice colours well shaded... the only thing i can say, and its a matter of taste, is taht i would try to darkline it a bit more (i like a lot those black lines, sure is that GW virus that no one talks about ... lol )

Robin Hood?

Ever since I have first saw this mini, it made me think of Robin Hood.

Isn\'t there part of the Robin Hood legend, that tells of him, as an old man and also blinded, still being able to hit the \"bullseye\", in one last tournament?

Anyhow, that is how I have always planned on painting this fellow, as an old Robin Hood. Any suggestions on painting it as such or corrections to the Robin Hood story?

yeah I guess the color scheme would appear familliar, I just liked yours so much I couldn\'t think of any other.:D I have a second one coming up with a more personal color scheme (dark green coat and dark reds).
@supervike: I guess a green coat would be a good start, and I don\'t know if it wou;d look good but you could try giving him a robin hood hat ( with the feather sticking out and all )

Much better than the red x. Kinda monochrome pallet. Do you use lots of ink washes? I seem to get a lot of gloss from them, then have to dulcoat the thing back down.

A touch more of the mini and less of the background would be better. Crop in photoshop, picture-it, image, etc. Check camera manual for focus modes - mine has more than I need. Also, with minis, long open shutter times = smaller aperatures = better depth of field.

this get a bit OT, but guess that\'s what is bound to happen on CMON so I\'ll do it anyway :D How do you do to keep all those lights around the mini and at the same time lengthen apartue time ??? Because the best I can bring up to is 1/20 of a second, more then that and the picture is way to bright.
Concerning the gloss I don\'t have a clue why I\'m getting it, this mini wasn\'t varnished on purpose since I really wanted a good picture of it, and i don\'t use inks at all. just diluted paint that I layer. Could it be that I\'m using lights that are to powerfull ???
