skin tones- unless he can explain the basic science of colour, and how and why certain tones work for certain skins, it will just be another skin tone tutorial

take a reference photo into photoshop, and try and match colours

if you want a more advanced route you have to learn colour and light first anyways

the problem with the tutorials everyone wants is that you guys dont realize it all starts with colour and light

light creates colour, which does the rest and there is no way to fully teach colour or light...you just have to learn it by studying and looking for yourself

basing however is more of a craft than a science...so it requires technique and application...which can be much easier explained in a tutorial

trust me, an open ended tutorial will do a lot more for learning than a closed ended specific step by step how to do exactly this tutorial

and i say this because i would rather see Seb spend his time on something truly useful than something that will just be \"another tutorial\"

Make tutorial about mixing paints. Which colors to use for making color lighter, which colors for shadowing etc. Usually people just talk about highlighting with white/bonewhite, when actually it isn\'t so easy...

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Great to see such enthusiasm :D

I\'ll think about these things and try to make something useful, that touches on some of these issues. I\'m afraid I can\'t do anything too massive though. A complete step-by-step or something is not on the cards, because if I did it properly - as I would want to - the amount of writing and photos required would be absurd! :duh:

So I think I\'m going to write one as I am painting a figure over the next 2 weeks or so, and focus on certain aspects of the painting. I\'ll try to write a lot about colour use, and my thoughts behind it. And also a big look at painting the flesh. And I\'ll even try to write something about the base haha, since a couple of you are so insistent! Plus maybe a few other bits which might be of interest. Obviously some of these things will necessarily touch on technique as well.

So, wish me luck then!!! haha ;)
