LAGD Bronze Wizard

Well, this was my first every Golden Demon Trophie so I was pretty excited when I saw my wizard in the winners case! His name is Taydan Grand Wizard of the Empire. It is a mixture of my daughters name Taylor and my sons name Jordan. I picture him standing atop a little outcropping of rock, surveying the battlefield. He has harnessed the energy of his crystal ball in his left hand and is getting ready to smite his enemies...thus the blue left hand with the white hot fingertips. I did take a little artistic licence and added blue light under his right hand as well which I know is impossible but I thought it looked good and helped balance out the paintjob. I was also able to add little wispy clouds to the globe at the top of his staff. Lucklily for me I was able to take Jeremie Bonamants painting class right before GDLA so I was able to come back to this model and apply some of the painting techniques that I learned from the class. It really helped me smooth out the blends in the robe and such. Thanks Jeremie!
This was a very very fun model to paint. GW did a great job on it. Oh and it is very easy to convert! Anyways if you care to vote and or leave a comment, good or bad, it would be great to hear from ya!

beautiful style great colours really nice..love the setting and the base ..The thing that let\'s it Down a bit is the OSL...A little too blue and ends a little abruptly.. I made exactly the same mistake when I did my first OSL a while back and am still learning the technique but quite often less is more (if you know what I mean) blending the flesh colours into the blue areas more will give a smoother and more realistic transition..However as You say Artistic license is a wonderful thing and who cares overall it is a lovely model and a real joy to llok at ..
good work on the development side and look forward to seeing more work...

I\'m not a huge OSL fan but do like what you\'ve attempted and love the dynamism of the piece.
The colours and blending of the cloak are top notch.

Grats on the demon!

Here is some info on the grass. Its good stuff.

As for the grass, it is called Preserved Mood Moss. It is made by a company called Super Moss. I buy it from Michaels Craft store here in America. Here is their official website:
www.supermoss.com
It comes in a bright green color so you have to paint it. I put it on after the model was done and then super glued it down so that it fit the contour of the rock. It looks great standing up as well.
