Hi all this is my latest WiP, I got this guy off a Cmon member a few weeks back along with a few others that he was selling. I thought it about time I put a bit of paint on one of them and here is the result so far.

I really like this model. I wasn\'t sure about it at first but as I have gotten further into it I am really enjoying how it is coming out. He is pretty armless at the moment lol as these will be painted separately and added later.

That IS a really nice sculpt! I liked it instantaniously.The way you\'ve painted it so far really brings out all that detailing that makes it really stand out.
The reds and whites...Good choice! I also like the way you took a brass breastplate with silver mail and guilding, sets a nice contrast while shifting focus.
All in all impressive thus far :beer:

Yep it is Leonidas from Ilyad Games. I was lucky enough to see a Cmon member advertise this and a few others in the trade forum so I bought all of them off him.

Great model, really nice tidy paintwork, especially on the cream coloured robes

Thanks guys, I haven\'t done alot more to him yet i have been busy with work but hopefully will be getting some more done to it tomorrow. For the silver I just used GW\'s Boltgun Metal, Chainmail and Mithril Silver easy as that.

very nice work so far. is that freehand on the plume on the helmet or is it already eched into it?
Man that guy has some abbs.
cant wait to see it with the arms attached.:beer:

Thanks guys, the scroll work on the helmet plume is etched into the mini although it is very very finely done. A little furhter along,

basically just the inside of the cloak, I want to do the outside a different colour and cannot decided between a green or black. I have a nice base from Dragonforge design on the way for this guy too.

Are ya keepin the back (outside) of the cloak black?

Looking LAAAAVERLY at the moment.
Great sculpt too.

Glad you like the work so far everyone. I have managed to get the cloak and also the sash on Leonidas done now. To be honest I wasn\'t sure at first but after persevering with it I am really quite happy with the end result,

The base I have ordered for him from Dragonforge has not yet arrived which is holding me up a bit, I may have to change my plans for that.

Wow, that awesome chest armour and blending, I dont like the green and red cape, I like the painting and the shading you have used, I just think the colours clash a bit, but not having seen the film yet, what do I know :D
But overall thats a great job :D and when it comes to voting the cape wont affect my vote

Oh you got em, Tim! I was worried and was gonna mail you soon just to check you received them ok :D

You\'re doing a much better job than I could do that\'s for sure.

How did you paint those greens? They\'re almost glowing.

Yup, I kinda feel the same way, those two color just seem to clash. And the white thingy on the back of the cape, is that part of the mini or freehand ?? Can\'t really make out what it is :p
