I can\'t believe I didn\'t do a WIP log for the Circle Orboros box I just painted.....

Anyway, this is a commission piece.

I had never read anything about LotD before this, so the short story is this: they are presumably the \"Fire Hawks\" chapter that got lost in the warp in the year such-and-such, and now they are a semi-zombie chapter that mysteriously swoops in at times of great need to help other chapters and then disappear. The Fire Hawks\' original symbology included a mushroom cloud, to explain the mushroom cloud on the tabard. The facial tones are supposed to look less than lively, since rotting flesh seems to be the order of the day.

Vince took what I wanted to say...

But still...The glove looks fantastic, and I love the chest emblem.

The flames do need a bit more attention.

You got some serious skills there Hako!

So after tonight\'s session....

I was roundly disappointed with the standard at first, but the more I \"busied it up\" the more I didn\'t hate it. Now I\'m just at the \"there\'s something about it that bothers me\" phase. I\'ll let the owner look at it and maybe give some direction.

Thanks for the nice comments. I didn\'t read them before painting and photography tonight, but I really see what you mean about the flames. I think an orange glaze in between the yellow and orange will reduce the hard edge between them.

Well, he\'s done and sent to the customer.

The only thing that bugs me (after I\'ve sent it, of course) is the globby stuff on the upper folds of the standard. I\'m not sure if it showed up after a glaze or after varnishing, but it seems much more obvious in the pictures.

I\'m pretty mediocre at freehand work, but the service studs came out nice. They have... dimension.
