there can never be a definitive answer to this question, as none of us have access to an array of cameras to take pictures of the same mini in order to judge the results.
It then comes down to opinion. I\'ve seen people swearing the camera they have is good but show quite rubbish pictures. So much is in the hands of the photographer.
Regarding the 350D. I can\'t show you images from it as I have a Canon 20D; same MP count though. However, I had a 35mm SLR and when I bought a regular digital camera (DSLRs were hugely expensive then) I missed the creativity of an SLR camera. I love my 20D. If I had a Nikon D70s I\'m sure I\'d love that too!
One thing to note; \"consumer\" digicams usually do a fair bit of \"processing\" in the camera - that is sharpness/contrast/saturation etc. DSLRs often have images coming from the camera that are \"softer\" as the photographer is expected to want to control the processing of the image. Bear that in mind
Maybe we should encourage users to post images on the site with an inclusion of the type of camera, is it is very critical to what we do.
I finally found the panasonic lumix that Nano bought, only a better model (FZ30 instead of FZ20). I just have to check if it has a cable link, it would suck to go to the store and develop the film and pay extra for a CD instead of plugging it to the CPU
Your right btw, if people told which cameras they used instead of us asking for it, things might go smoother.
Check all the pics in my gallery out for ones taken on a 6mp Canon 300D, the previous model to the 350D. Can\'t post mini pics taken with a 350, but I can get hold of some of the Old Man\'s stuff he\'s taken with his if you really want.
Just bear in mind that you\'ll need to spend on a lens - the 50mm compact macro I use is about £170 I think, and that\'s one of the cheaper ones knocking about.
The FZ30 is a quality bit of kit too. Got my eye on one of those as well. So much cheaper than buying a 400mm image stabilised lens for my DSLR
