Looking for a suitable 28mm kit

I\'m after an 1920-40\'s style limousine (armoured or civilian) In order to convert for use with genestealer hybrids (Remember those?)

Armoured car searches usually bring up Daimler MKII Armoured cars, or Panzer Wagens.

More like this:

Because of the scale creep and general \"Heroic\" factor of GWs sculpts you may find that 25mm stuff seems a bit small anyway. I\'d try looking for plain old 1/35th kits as there are plenty of good ones out there

RPM Models makes this one

I\'ve got it assembled on my waiting to paint table and the scale is good for 40k

They also make these

Not 100% on the scale matchup here but Zvezda makes these also in 1/35

And Maquette makes these -

I think Maquette also has one with more of a thirties body style that I just cant find right now.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Steel.
The first one I don\'t like, but the later examples you\'ve given are more what I\'m after...

Though I\'m more looking for an ADAPTED vehicle (Or just a plain civilian kit I can convert)

I\'ll have a search through that site myself though...

Theres a couple of model T type chassis or truck bodies there that might work as well. I wasn\'t sure what your price range for conversion was - theres a Rolls Royce kit there for about 90 quid.

Geez - £90?!! Bit steep for me :D lol

These are the nearest SHAPES I\'ve found so far... (Although I dunno if a more angular daimler/Rolls royce type limo would be easier to convert)

Aye that\'s true, but I\'m looking for an adapted civilian vehicle (or a regular civilian vehicle I can convert myself), whereas that one is a purpose-built military scout car.

Hmm - starting to get a little frustrating - I didn\'t think they would be so hard to find :p

Well - I\'m considering just a regular rolls-Daimler style civilian limo of roughly the right scale that I can just convert.

Just needs to be plastic, 28mm(ish) and not overly expensive...

I bought a German \'staff\' car, very similar to what you show there DAN for the measly sum of 5 bucks at the local WAL-MART. It is 1/48th scale (or close to) so it works pretty well for 28mm.

I can\'t find a pic online at the moment, but I\'d be glad to take a pic this evening if you are interested. At that price, you could feel confident about chopping it up converting it. I\'m sure they have more...I could get one and post it off to you.

Let me know.

I\'m thinking it is a Diamler/Rolls looking thing...very similar in appearance to the Squadron ones you show.

It is mostly if not all plastic, if I recall correctly....

Well, I was gonna take a pic last night, but my freaking camera battery was dead.

But, I looked at what kind it was so, I got this pic of the internet....

That is it exactly....It\'s a Mercedes. Made by a company called ULTIMATE SOLDIER.

If you are interested, I\'ll run over to the Wal-mart and snag one, if they still have them.

Scale wise, it works very well for our minis.

ok... Doesn\'t look bad - cheap and cheerful :p
Do they make any longer, limousine-style models?

And it doesn\'t look like those doors open - if not, are they choppable?

Promising - $5 is definately within the price range :D lol

It feels like the whole think is a heavy plastic, with maybe a metal frame. The box says \'die cast\'...but I dunno about that.

Doors do not open, but you may be able to chop.

It does look cheap, granted, but with a smidge of a paint job, should do fine.

I don\'t recall any other cars, just a tank a some planes in that line.

If they have any at the store, I\'ll just go ahead and get one for you, my treat....they are so cheap its hard to pass up.

I\'ll PM you with more info, should I find one.
