LOTR tradeable minis game

Has anyone played this game?
I just picked up the starter set at a thrift shop for $4. At .50 per mini I couldn\'t resist.
The minis are a bit large in scale but look to be pretty good quality.
Anyway, they are a soft plastic so
1-has anyone played this game? is it any good?
2-has anyone repainted the minis? how did you remove the old paint?

my local game shop carries it, and have orded several starters and a case of boosters, and no one bought any.

from what ive heard, the game is utter crap. (worse than the GW lord of the rings game)

as for stripping, home depot or lowes (any diy store) should have a paint stripping isle. cleanStrip or citrus strip are good (from what ive heard) to name a few of the brands. should be tough on paint, but gentle on anything else.
