What is a painting masterclass? It is an intensive class on painting figurines over 2 days. Every techniques and theoretical concepts are covered from the undercoat to perfect blending passing by zenithal lighting.

The imposed figurine will allow every student to have plenty of time to explore the principal areas of painting: clothing, skin, the face and metallics. In term of theory, zenithal lighting, composition, color theory and base conception will be explored giving every students a complete understanding of the theoretical concepts to maximise the impact of his or her miniature.

The class is over 2 intensive days, saturday and sunday. Saturday starts at 9 am and last until 9 pm and sunday goes from 9am to 6 pm.

The class is open to every level of painters. Whether you are holding a brush for the first time or you have painted hundreds of models for your armies everyone will benefit from this class. Each students will receive the same technical and theoretical information but the follow up is totally personalised and 1 on 1. Every student will be pushed to the maximum of his or her abilities in order to make sure that everyone get the maximum out of this experience. So whether you are an army painter that want to know how to have better results on its favorite model or you are the painter that dream about a Golden Demon this class is for you.

We have space for 20 students so make sure you reserve your spot quickly. For more information or to register you can contact the organizer of the event.

I'll announce the future event here as well. So far the possibilities are Baltimore and Austin. If you want to organise a class in your region simply contact me.

Hi Roger,

I'm looking for somewhere too. I asked akaranseth and he said he remembered that the Marriot do a Residence in the area. I looked and found this

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bosmd-courtyard-boston-marlborough/

Its $89 a night. Its a little further away from Hudson than http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bosmb-residence-inn-boston-marlborough/ but $89 instead of $169. I'm still undecided myself as I don't know the Boston area (or any area in the US for that matter). It would be nice if there was someone in the same hotel to talk to.

Thanks for the information Lord Putridus.

Are you from the Boston area? I'll be arriving on the Thursday and would like to do some sight seeing and mini/paint buying. Know anywhere? That question goes for anyone else reading this.

I live and work in Boston... grew up in Hudson. :) Ask away.

As for mini/paint stores in the Hudson / Boston areas... There are several with little to no stock (listed in WD) but there are a few good ones.

Your best bet is the Hobby Bunker in Malden; they've got _everything_ (P3 paints too). They are just north of Boston, not really in the nicest neighborhood - but they've got the goods.

I play at Harrison's Comics every Friday, and also purchase all of my 40k stuff from here as well. He does have a GW paint rack and some misc hobby supplies. Very friendly people here.

Battleground in Abington and Toy Soldier in Amesbury are also very nice gaming stores with decent stock, but both are a good 40-60 minute drive outside of Boston (farther from Hudson).

More thanks is needed. Now for the most important question . . . .

Where can I spend my evenings. I'm talking music, I'm talking atmosphere, I'm talking wee drops of alcohol. If you tell me the Blue Oyster I'm outta here!!

Hah well... I was going to recommend the Union Oyster House; as it's one of the oldest restaurants in Boston and a good place to get some great New England seafood... but... :)

Yeah definitely you want to be in Boston and/or Cambridge at night. The live music scene here isn't what it once was... you will have to pay a cover to get in most places that have music. That said, if you know where to look you can find just about anything - it just depends on what age group you prefer to be around and what sort of music you want hear, and how much you want to pay for drinks heh.
