Minis at an art pageant

My favorite coffee shop here in Seattle is having an art show. They\'re an eclectic bunch and figured that fantasy miniatures would be a lovely addition.

So on December 1st from 9am to 3pm I\'ll have a case of my minis on display.

All of this is taking place at Diva Espresso on the corner of Greenwood and N 80th street. I\'d love to meet any of the local cmon-ers. If you\'re in the area please drop by and say hello.

Also I\'m really curious to see how \"normal\" folks and art appreciators will react to tiny pewter people.

It\'ll be interesting to say the least to watch their expressions.
Especially when they realise that the Painter is an attractive young woman and not the \"Nerdy male \" type normally associated with mini painting.

Good luck and maybe someone will give you a huge commisson so that you can officially call yourself an \"Artist\".

mrika\'s work is worthy of the title \'art\' too. Not going to be some thick-paint with drybrush job so commonly found in the gaming community. Couldn\'t ask for a better representative of mini painting. :)

Aw, I still think you\'re lovely, TBS.

It would be fun, indeed, to watch how \"normal\" people respond to really high-end miniature painting. Most people have never seen such things. And, seeing them in an \"art environment\" may very well make people see them in a different light, although there will probably be one or two people who wrinkle their noses and think that the miniatures don\'t belong there.

Good luck and I hope you get a good reception from people! :)

Sounds like fun. Prepare yourself for a barrage of \"do you paint with a magnifying glass\" and \"do your brushes have only one hair\" type questions ;)

Good luck with it though, it\'ll be a trial. I bet a heap of people walk away with a new hobby after that... Any of you ever noticed te crazy interest that people show in mini painting when they see it up close?

Cheers Mod, I feel pretty again  lol

That\'s very cool, wish I were close enough to drop by. I hope you\'ll come back later and give us an overview of the responses people had, it\'d be interesting to hear about.

Oh yes, please report on this. Write down some quotes on how they \"define\" the minnis, if you hear any. The idea of a \"know it all\" trying to explain to everyone in earshot that this is clearing a example of the \'Neo Classical\' school (or something like that) should be fun.
Good Luck, and hey maybe someone will offer you a princely sum (thinking 100\'s+) for one of your pieces.
