Finanlly got this one done and to say that this is my second NMM attempt I am happy but not totally satisfied with the result. The mini is cool and the NMM came out better than I thought but not quite as good as I\'d hoped.

I agree, the sword is very good. The rest of the metal is, while not great, still extremely good considering this is your second NMM piece. :)

He looks great. Way better than the ones I painted. The bone looks good, and the NMM is really nifty, though there\'s a bit to much rust on the shield for my taste. But I find the base a bit strange, the green surface of the stone seems out of place, what should it represent?

Thanks the base was a bit of a puzzle as I wanted to contrast the mini against it and the grey of the stone clashed with the NMM and the any other lighter colour clashed with the bone so I stained the top with green to give it an mossy like apperance. I am probably going to change it back to the stone look and place some H&A forest litter here and there.

I agree, the nmm is nice, and some real hotspots would really make it pop a lot more.

The base also seems a bit odd to me, I can\'t quite place where I\'d see ground like that.

Why not change the base back to grey and then put some patches of green flock on it? You can still add H&A forrest litter on top of that.

I figured it out! he\'s walking across a broken up tennis court?

I think Anders may be on to something though

Thanks the base will be changed back to the original way I intended it, I\'ll repost the pic when it is done. I\'ll try to add some hotspots too. Thanks for the feedback.

Double post time again, I have altered the base to a more natural look (at least I think so) as soon as it has dried I will retake the pic and repost the image.

Thanks again for your comments.

Please now ignore the first posting as the Cmon address for that mini is now gone. Thanks again all for the suggestions and feedback.

Yup...definitely doesn\'t look quite as much like a hardcourt now....unless that hardcourt was VERY old with a lot of stuff on it. :D

Great job on a very character-ful skeleton. I\'m not usually a big fan of seeing skeletons, but you did a wonderful job. The actual base that everything is sitting on looks godawful beaten up, but it kinda fits in to with everything in a strange way too.

Been and voted!

Thanks Ethan the base is a resin cast and the edging pics out the slight flaws, that was my mistake as I didn\'t see them until I edged it at the end of painting the mini doh.

You\'re very welcome! Well deserved praise, IMO. :D

On an off topic note, I\'ve finally finished preping one of the minis you sent me ME4...I\'ll probably fiddle with it tonight. :)

Very nice Tim. I got to say I like the updated base a lot. The NMM is very well done. I like the rusty look of the sheild. The head of the skeleton is outstanding. And after taking a second look at the mini, I really like the blue shirt. I was not sure that it fit at 1st glance, but I think it works very nicely.

I know what you mean, I didn\'t really like the blue shirt first either. But with the new base the blue harmonises with the green and the orange-brown leaves, and this makes it look really good. Just goes to show how much a balanced colour pallette means...
