Morrdha, Vampire Mage .. and a question..

Hi CMONers.
I didn't post anything on CoolMini for a loooong time, but it is time to change it. By the way I would like to know what do you think about my latest submission. I rather would like to know how do you like backgrounds like this on pictures. Here, on CoolMini we judge not models but photos of models, so I wonder how much attention do you pay to general look of whole picture, not only model itself.

I really like it. The background gives it good atmosphere. Excellent dark moody paint.

you know if you could get a good balance between the mini and the background, i personally think it would help scoring higher. although, i still believe you should see the whole mini somewhat properly. this picture is a little too dark, in my opinion. but still a good photo

Though that's a pretty awesome picture - wonderfully atmospheric!, personally I prefer pictures of minis with a plain background if I want to look at how well the mini is painted.

It may help the score but I definitely prefer a plain background.

Here is better photo, without detailed background. I will add it to my CMON gallery in a minute, and after 50 votes on both pictures we will see which one is better

one thing I have noticed, in your photo with the detailed background you have lit the miniature from the opposite direction than you painted the light in. I would reverse the light and accentuate what you have painted rather than fighting it.

I personally like a funky background, that one definitely suits the figure well, and the lighting offers a different take on the miniature alltogether, sweet
